Strange that there is minimal praise for JS after the Charlton and Wrexham games.

All those who wanted to out him post Watford and gave him the pathetic "Le Shrug" nick name are notably absent currently.

There will be bad games and good games. But the vitriol spewed about a new manager was something to behold. And not in a good way.

Sam,

Don't you think Wombat also knows what he's doing?

He's watched hundreds (thousands?) of our games, and posted a rational post:

"He’s won two against two poor teams , do it again on sat then we can hope he’s learning , esp if madson starts in a midfield we are likely to get dominated in on sat"

And I, for one, shared Wombat's fears. Historically, Mark Robbins' teams tend to destroy us in midfield through guile, numbers and ability. I saw his point.

I worry about this 'that aged well' type of analysis, Sam. You might have a great point, but Wombat surely had one too, and I'm sure you both have many others.

No he obviously doesn't......he said:

1- Wrexham & Charlton are not poor teams especially - Both won away on Saturday, Wrexham beat Norwich (no mean feat) & Charlton beat Sheff Utd.
2 - Madsen started, we did not get dominated, Madsen was very good on Saturday & he wants him dropped, absolute madness & very wrong.

So what that he has watched hundreds or thousands of games ?? That does not mean anything!!! His post was far from rational, similar to yours.

As for the Manager......as I have said earlier in this thread, he needs a chance but, again, on Saturday I was shocked at his substitution & the lack of them.

I find myself agreeing @cpgerber . I’m liking how JS is not making this about him (like many of our recent managers - MC included in that). He’s all about the players, the team and the club. Just quietly gets on with it.

Impressed that he didn’t crumble after Cov, many would have panicked. He’s got these boys building some confidence while being realistic about our highs and lows. I hope he can keep it going.

Will be an interesting 3-game week next week. SW looking up? Oxford getting first win! Bristol looking to bounce back? Nothing easy ahead, but we are building confidence, just keep grounded lads, keep putting in the hard work and listen to the gaffer.

Yes, next week's three gamer will be interesting and particularly the middle game. After an unchanged starting 11 in two games, and quite likely a third against Wednesday, it will be fascinating to see what lineup Stephan picks v Oxford.

I don't agree that MC made wins about himself, he continually said any success was about the players by pointing to them and pushing them forward at the end of games when the Support was chanting Marti's name, also in many interviews. Not that I"ve got any problem with JS either.

It's a bit of a weird psychological phenomenon, this. I'd imagine someone qualified would know exactly what's going on.

I adored MC. I loved him. That love affair started immediately and suddenly at that Preston away game. From that moment on I wasn't willing to listen to any negative comments about him.

I have loved being a QPR fan for the last three weeks. I've really gotten a buzz out of it that I can't remember having for a long long time. I guess since 'that' Leeds game. Yet here I am somehow not getting all smitten with JS (yet). If this carries on I'm sure that will change but for some reason he's having to work a lot harder to earn that puppy love than Marti did.

I'm guessing it's likely because MC brought something positive as an immediate and stark change to what had consistently come before, completely unexpectedly. We were crying out for a hero at that point... and there he was.

Stephan comes in at a point where a large section of our fans (me included) didn't believe we needed him. Even in the face of what's beginning to look like clear progress, it's just somehow not the same level of idolisation.

What a job he's done over those last three games. Charlton a fantastic show of guts and character. Wrexham first half a masterpiece. And Saturday a calm and pretty measured plan and performance which reaped reward.

Carry on like this and it will come, for sure. He surely, surely deserves massive credit.

And maybe you also have a good point, Gazza.

thanks , its intresting that since we have dumped the latest lets do it this way plan with two up front and have actual quality to bring off the bench so much so that some usual first teamers wone be even on the benc soon , the route from the dev swquad seems to have also taken a back seat as well which has helped us enourmously , in fact we for the first time in a while look a fairly well organised squad . long may it continue

I think you are right, we were in such a bad place when Marti took over, and he did an amazing job in his first year., people liked him almost from the off.

It's different with Stephan as most people didn't want Marti replaced, and he is also not super expressive and appears very calm most of the time (which is actually a good thing I think and feeds into the rest of teh squad not to panic etc) but this probably makes people warm to him slightly slower.

Like the team, early days, but showing improvement, I'm feeling pretty optimistic about him.

Maybe sometimes Gazza you don't always need subs? If the team out there are fit and seeing the game out, you can trust them to do that?

Hayden for Varane seemed a fair swap to me, like for like. Probably didn't quite go as well as the manager would have liked with Hayden getting a quick booking, but we still won and kept a clean sheet.

On to the next one.

I'm with Gazza on this one, Chef. I thought our players were fairly baked and posted as much. I get that it's a risk to make lots of subs but I was surprised there was only one.

Of course posters can post what they want but if Wombat posts stuff that is so wrong and incorrect and someone supports the post saying he must be right because he has seen 100's/1000's of matches then expect negative type posts basically like what I posted.......as has been said earlier, Wombat wants Madsen out and he has been playing well and played very well on Saturday and I do not concur on his views about other teams either. Most teams can 'play' on their day, look at Bristol/Oxford!!!

Wombat doesn't want Madsen out, his post is a week old, he was talking about the upcoming Stoke game. I shared his fears.

I didn't say he must be right, I said it was a great point.

And, his point is 'wrong and incorrect' in your opinion. And maybe you are right, but as I say it's not a science.
