Strange that there is minimal praise for JS after the Charlton and Wrexham games.

All those who wanted to out him post Watford and gave him the pathetic "Le Shrug" nick name are notably absent currently.

There will be bad games and good games. But the vitriol spewed about a new manager was something to behold. And not in a good way.

The force of the self righteous is strong on this one…..

Vitriol? Not seen it.
People wanting him / the club to fail? C’mon
Le Shrug = clutch yer pearls and be the first to mention a certain demonstration and disparage people?? Beyond touchy!!

As others have said we shouldn’t be casting statues after wins v Charlton and monied Wrexham; much as we shouldn’t be casting aspersions after defeats.
However surely people can understand concerns with the manner of defeats where seven are conceded and a squad of kindergarten toddlers is taken to a Cup competition.

Bon chance to Julien and I hope we and he go from success to success

He’s won two against two poor teams , do it again on sat then we can hope he’s learning , esp if madson starts in a midfield we are likely to get dominated in on sat

Didn't want Marti to go and I'd never really heard of Jules prior to his being linked with us, so I went into the season a bit non-plussed but prepared to give everyone a chance. The initial games didn't inspire any strong feelings either way but I was extremely cheesed off by the way we just greased ourselves up and prepared for the snu-snuing of a lifetime at Coventry.

However, when Jules fronted up to it in post-match, refused to throw players under various buses and made no excuses, instead making a somewhat risky promise to be 'completely different', he certainly got my attention. And, it would seem, the players were on board with this too because his prediction was spot on.

It ain't perfect (is it ever?) but we can see a manager trying new things and making positive adjustments that, frankly, even Marti would have struggled with at times. I like where he's taking us, as things stand. The squad balance is better (not brilliant but an improvement) and the matchday team is beginning to show us what it is capable of.

In short, right now, I don't miss Marti. I know it's early days but everyone has to start somewhere.

'What do we want? We don't know! When do we want it? Now!'

I like him . He seemed much more confident in the post match after wrexham. Of course a win will do that but just felt he was finding his feet a bit.

Stoke will be a good test, they are flying and I do rate Robins

Condolences Hooping . I've been where you are now.

My point was not directed at you about the vitriol. But it must be admitted that JS WAS getting loads of vitriol after the opening games.

I just thought it it was a little strange there was next to no threads giving him praise after the last 2 wins.

Maybe that will be the way it'll go. Win and it's down to the players and lose -it's on the manager.

Thank you, your post was very much aimed at me and that's fine.

I've explained it several times, and I'll explain one last time for clarity.

The Le Shrug name/comment came from me, only because he shruggs his shoulders an awful lot, especially post match. It's one of his mannerisms and I drew attention to as I found it very distracting. It is at least to me a very 'French' way of communicating. Nothing more. I also stopped after Charlton AND I did post here afterwards so for 'clarity' I was here.

Our Goalkeeper (the same one I have called for to start games) is also French do I bang on about that? Do I have a problem with him?

I think your comments were/are overly self rightous, JS got a lot of negative comments because the start to the season was by any standard appaling. Can we just discuss the facts on the ground without silly "You see" threads that only pop when we finally win a game please? It's tedious and trivial to me, though I freely admit 24 other posters seem to think that you framed a meaninful or salient argument.

For the avoidance of any doubt I really didn't appricate the tone and sentiment of your post, the 24 up voters I have reluctantly put on ignore, the whole thread is petty.

I'll leave it there.

On the JS thread after the Coventry game i said i couldnt see a way back for him.

Very pleased to admit I was wrong.

Yes the 3 new signings have made a difference, but But the interplay iup front is fun to watch, there is some bite in midfield and the risky scary play from the back sh1t has gone.

Why stop now, just when I'm hating it

Pleased JS has got us going, must admit was really concerned about him after Watford and Coventry, but he has drilled in positivity into the team and it is paying dividends.

Sam,

Don't you think Wombat also knows what he's doing?

He's watched hundreds (thousands?) of our games, and posted a rational post:

"He’s won two against two poor teams , do it again on sat then we can hope he’s learning , esp if madson starts in a midfield we are likely to get dominated in on sat"

And I, for one, shared Wombat's fears. Historically, Mark Robbins' teams tend to destroy us in midfield through guile, numbers and ability. I saw his point.

I worry about this 'that aged well' type of analysis, Sam. You might have a great point, but Wombat surely had one too, and I'm sure you both have many others.

Pretty much where I am. I think that we have just beaten two limited teams who created plenty against us.

Charlton, I think will struggle all year. The current set up at Wrexham will also, but I expect them to remedy that either in the Jan window and / or with a change of manager.

Stoke who have started well will be a step up. Win that one, then maybe we have something.

Yeah go on then - I think we might have something here.

It's not about being right or wrong, it's a forum so post whatever you please. However when someone posted endless negativity during the summer but silence when we're doing well, a "rational post" but still using it to slate Madsen who has become one of our most important players. I don't agree and think it's a sad indictment that forum traffic is at it's highest following losses. I'll leave it at that because we've won 3 games in a row and it should be happy days

Several posters on here disappear when we do well Sam. They are happiest when they are miserable and have something to moan about.

Strange way to be for me. But it would be a boring existence if we were all alike...

Took us 10 games and well into December to get that number of points at home.
Massive improvement so far.

I find myself agreeing @cpgerber . I’m liking how JS is not making this about him (like many of our recent managers - MC included in that). He’s all about the players, the team and the club. Just quietly gets on with it.

Impressed that he didn’t crumble after Cov, many would have panicked. He’s got these boys building some confidence while being realistic about our highs and lows. I hope he can keep it going.

Will be an interesting 3-game week next week. SW looking up? Oxford getting first win! Bristol looking to bounce back? Nothing easy ahead, but we are building confidence, just keep grounded lads, keep putting in the hard work and listen to the gaffer.
