Why is this so
Serious question

And another, if right is wrong , why is left right

Well right is the "man" and left are the revolutionaries, is that it?

Who knows, without googling it, why it's called "left and right"?

It’s interesting is it not
On forums , quite clearly right wing is an insult with inferences of fascism and intolerance
The left , the folk who care for their fellow man , freedom of expression and FairPlay

Far right , personally to me , means the likes of Le Pen
Extreme left , well Venezuela , North Korea and several African hellholes

European people and those in the Anglosphere have an in-built recoil to all things fascistic or resembling Fascism.

It's a hangover from the bloodshed and genocide of the 30s and 40s.

The left know this and have exploited it for their own ends to cheaply try and win an argument against anything that doesn't fit their narrative or dogma.

It's their equivalent of playing the race card.

As they get more and more deranged over gender, migration, net zero etc a significant number of traditional conservative folk grounded in commonsense has started to push back on the pernicious influence of the loony left in almost every aspect of public life.

The response is the tiresome "Nazis", "Right Wing", "Fascist" slurs against ordinary folk watching their world dissolve into insanity around them and objecting to it.

The irony being that the biggest anti-semites I've encountered have almost exclusively been from the political left.

Thanks for that , absolutely as I see it
II see Corbyn’s new “ party” already at war with itself with Sultana chucking some serious allegations at Jezza , the man who could have been PM , a man so immoral as to use the “ poor” , deprived , dispossessed , downtrodden to further his aim in life
One who needs disharmony in society on a country he despises

I think its easy to categorise people into 2 main groups , if your views are more in line with socialism and your neighbour believes is conservatism then just use the rightwing title and if the roles are switched then your a lefty ,it seems today like many things there's no acceptance of a middle ground and y to me thats a dangerous position to be in as a nation. Another thing missing is tolerance ,again in all aspects in life, everyone seems to be on edge ,waiting and watching to be upset.

It's the name calling I object to really. Therr are loonies on the left, definitely but they aren't all loonies. In just the same vein there are loonies on the right. There's good and bad in both sides.

What I'm really fed up of is the finger pointing and the name calling as if the right are the good guys or the left are the good guys, they have both been utterly shit for this country for over 40 years and people never learn and keep voting the same tired parties in to see the same failed policies.

The electorate are stupid and what we are seeing now is the product of that stupidity. People who "always voted (Labour or Tory orLib,lLib/dems) because their parents did, they are part of the problem. peoople need to think about what they want and match that to the party promising the most of what they want, not behave like a bunch of braindead sheep.

I'm all for controlling immigration, I'm all for stopping /slowing the flow of illegals and sending back those who have no right to be here or who are making absurd claims. I'm all for stopping criminals coming here.

What I'm not all for is those arguments being called racist and neither am I all for the real racists using those arguments to justify their hate filled rhetoric.

In which case Boundy I am a mess as I hold both right and left views
Vehemently anti monarchy , pro hanging, limit child benefit to two, none for those under 21 and marriage being given priority over civil partnerships . Why, because all society’s problems are down to lack of parenting and mostly no parenting at all . Nothing wrong with a male role model on a home either

Yeah

I believe we need to prioritise indigenous British culture and bin this ludicrous multi cultural “ love in”
Everyone prefers their own , trick is not to impinge on judgement of people

Nobody has to respect any religion but the right for folk to believe it if they want

I also believe the Super rich should pay more tax and PL footballers a prime example of how tickshits earn vast amounts but have not a clue of how to live after retirement

I’m out to kick some pussirs anyway

Waving your flag and caring about the culture of your country is an evil, dirty fascist, far right, racist, gammony type of thing to do unless it’s the SNP, Plaid Cymru or Sinn Fein doing it.

You're dea right, obviously. There are idiots on all sides of the political fences.

PS, OHL, O agree with a lot of what you say and going a bit further, I think we should be allowed to punish kids more stringly again because as we get ever softer on them, the violence perpetrated by them seems to increase.

Everybody needs discipline, discipline is different to abuse.

The entire reason plaid existed in the first place was because of a desire to protect Welsh society, culture and specifically language in the aftermath of hundreds of thousands/millions of English, Irish and Scottish people coming in to find work in the mines. Now they’re inviting half of the third world in no questions asked. Already nearly a quarter of people in London do not speak English as a first language. Over half are foreign born. How are supposed desperate people fleeing destitution able to live in what for the rest of us is the most unaffordable city in the country in terms of house prices, rent, council tax, Ulez etc?

There’s something very weird going on.

Plaid are hardly alone it no longer being the party they were formed to be, Labour are a universe away from why they were started. The Tories?

Mist people, it seems to me, want immigration gotten under control but the noisy minority get listened to by the chattering classes who then hold the attention of the ruling government.

What the majority want is what should happen. |right or wrong demicracy should prevail. It's been a long time since the majority were really listened to in this country. Instead the politicians call people bigots, racists etc.

The reason Robinson is gaining so much traction is because the politicians have been ignoring us and doing what they want. When people feel powerless they start to turn to the extreme.

Exactly this.

The term "Looney Left" was only used in the 70s/80s for a small minority of cranks like Corbyn, Bernie Grant, Red Ken etc....

It seems these days that the mind virus has spread far and wide throughout the liberal-left political domain and the term can be applied to the majority rather than a fringe group.

Men dressed as women using Women's changing rooms and toilets would have likely resulted in a prosecution or at the least a caution 30 years ago - now if you object to it you get called an intolerant bigot and get charged with a hate crime youself. Go figure...

This country has lost the feckin plot.

Neither left wing or right wing should be insults. They’re simply differing views.

It’s the extremes where the problems are and it’s such a sensitive subject it causes a lot of anger.

Both sides using the ‘far’ label is very unhelpful but then, who adjudicates?

I’d describe myself as left of centre with some traditional right wing views.

I wouldn’t personally describe Nigel Farage as far right. I would describe Tommy Robinson as far right. Others may disagree and that’s fine too.

I am very close to the same position as you. I think a good idea is a good idea and run with it wherever it came from. Even Tommy Robinson could have an idea worth pursuing.

Polarisation is one of the big problems, the anger, name calling and finger pointing do not help anything.

Both sides accuse the other when the reality is, Labour have been a bit to the right for a long time, since Blair. Maybe they figured out they cannot make Socialism work? But it doesn't help that a lot of people can see that capitalism works for the rich but isn't really great for the majority. We can't all be rich but there shouldn't be so many poor people either.

Communism is a fantastic idea that can never work because of human nature. We are greedy and selfish by nature, well most of us are.

I have all I need and a lot of what I want but for some people too much is never enough.

Of course Socialism works, just that Thatcher won the battle, from memory she sold the countries family silver, vital nationalised companies were privatised, the housing stock was sold off for a song, tax cuts for workers (large ones for high earners obviously), so Labour were beaten they were trying to sell the idea of higher taxes for services and infrastructure while the Tories were cutting taxes which was fine for today but disastrous for tomorrow, Labour joined her and became a right wing party as they weren't going to win an election with Socialist policies in the main due to English greed truth be said Scotland and Wales were still voting Labour but England was a lost cause and had the weight of numbers ensuring her party would get in, her greatest achievement she said was creating NuLabour.

The Tories cam to power in 1979 because Labour failed, remember the winter of discontent?

Name a country with a successful socialist government? Venezuela?

Now then, "English greed"? Here we go again eh? Wales has voted a Labour government in for 25 years and things have been getting worse, hardy a socialist paradise are we.

The tories didn't win in 79 because Thatcher won the argument they won because Labour lost the plot. Likewise we had 14 years of the tories after Blair and Brown (Beown who sold the family gold for a pittance) caused a boom and massive bust.

Don't forget Gordon "I saved the World" Brown who bailed out the banks without any recourse.

Every time you see UK banks post billions of profits just remember the tax payer bailed them out and Brown let them off the hook with respect to any recourse........
