In terms of energy generation, Governments have sat on their hands for a long time and we’ve had many reports of a lack of planning and action to ensure supply meets demand in the future. I’m not overl6 happy about paying 12% extra, but it’s not as though it’s 50% higher.
What really grips me is we’re paying wind turbine owners to switch their machines off to “balance” the grid - wind turbine machine owners also turn their machines off which causes more gas to be used - I mean what’s all that about. The energy market needs a real shake up. There are definite advantages about a transition to clean renewable energy because fossil fuels are just going to increase in price, but it has to be done on a sensible pragmatic basis. | | | |

That's exactly the problem, the infrastructure cannot cope with all the generated power so it's turned off to protect the grid.
The question is, why didn't they build the infrastructure while the farms were being built so the power could easily be sent to other locations?
