The manager can't explain it, apparently.

Anyone with any ideas?

Are there any other jobs people are doing where they get paid for a full shift while putting in the work for a quarter of the time (and no refunds)?

Got properly caught out with Peig f or my LC. Got my hands on an English version and thought I was sorted. Turns out they deliberately omitted a number of chapters- guess which chapters the exam were on

A thoroughly miserable piece of text.
School I attended thought Latin, French and Irish . We had to do them all . Confused wasn’t the word. Always preferred French.

My first post !!

I was at the game. We struggled with their directness in the 1st half. They were only ever going to score from a set piece and we should have known that yet we switched off. Better from us in the 2nd half, but our forwards weren't on it either. A few good chances missed. Still, to get an away point at a ground we never do well at when we played like this... well, I'll take it.

It's Championship football, no team can be on it for 90 mins, every game, especially away. It's how you respond to it that defines the best sides. Roll on the next game.

I switch off at work all the time, I'm just not so exposed publicly for doing it.

The thing that always gets me is that everyone ( bar RND) were all off it. Vale, Saito, Kone and Burrell contributed next to nothing. If just one of them played well, that’s all you need to provide one bit of quality to win a game. But no, let’s all have a stinker, at the same time. Frustrating. Have seen it so many times with our lot.

The ref blowing for every single infringement absolutely killed the game as well. Just not necessary and totally ruins the game.

Yes should have got 3 points as they will be in trouble against better sides. We are not the finished article but yet we have 11 points. We are 9 the yes equal on points with some big teams, so that's not bad. Wait I hear you cry we could have been joint second on 13 !! And yes this fact allone should have got a much much better performance out of what are a really well paid bunch of blokes. Are we promotional in quality i think not yet .... dark horses yes (very dark in my opinion) lets see how we 1/ perform against the bigger clubs 2/ Wednesday and Saturday produce 4 points then it's been a great month. Winter is coming tough away days ect lets keep up with the pack and sprint when we have too. We might cross the line in a decent position at least lets have a better season than last
I will accept that the team should have worked harder for a chan of second. Let's see what happens Wednesday. ?

We cannot get a nosebleed everytime we get a bit of momentum and have a simple(ish) game to win in order to get near promotion spots.

It's not about the result on Saturday, it was the lack of resilience - being mentally and physically weak in this league is disastrous.

I don't want to see a pattern where we win a few, climb the table, get excited, get altitude sickness, wilt, tumble down the table, win a few etc etc etc

Just play what's in front of us and tot the points up irrespective of what the league table says.

We know what they are capable of so it's up to JS to get their heads and attitudes straight. No more part-time performances will be tolerated.

As Chair loses that bit of pace needed to leave Defenders standing I'd love to see him evolve into that Bannan type of playmaker who can dominate games from deep, making him harder to shackle.

I can't see it myself. I just don't think he has that in his locker sadly.

You could well be right, just like to see us try it so we know one way or the other.

If it worked, his value could double, which given his age, would be good.

Bit of an exaggerated reaction to the situation, imho.

We all know that it wasn't a good performance but we battled hard, created a few chances and defended pretty well, overall. Maybe worthy of the point we got.

In amongst the poor individual performances and poor passing, there was a very decent game from RND and good ones from Madsen, Mbengue and Morrison.

If things go wrong the rest of this week, then our bubble will have burst, but in the meantime, we plan for a home game against Oxford and try and get the three points.

Every team has 10-15 min bursts in a game, but it’s what you deliver in that burst. Could have had a couple at the beginning of the 2nd half and the remainder would have been different if we’d got at least one. They’d have come knocking harder potentially creating space in behind. Look at Wrexham. Arsenal were no different yesterday and ended up behind for not punishing the oppo

Gotta love the diversity of the QPR fanbase! The one you don't understand (I assume) refers to an Irish text book entitled 'Peig' about a woman of the same name who lived on the Great Blasket Islands off the coast of Kerry. She lived alone and one of the many 'riveting' facts we learned about her was she smoked tea leaves in her clay pipe when she ran out of tobacco. It was the bane of every Irish student for decades on end although she has had a mercy killing, thankfully.

Having taken 10 points from 12 I too demand to know why we aren't dominating every minute of every game. And who were those other players on the pitch, some of them didn't even appear to playing for QPR, ridiculous.

Who's talking about dominating every minute? And why do you need to engage in caricature to try to look clever rather than, once again, with what a writer is actually writing? Is it a brain deficiency, sense of inadequacy, or something else?

I'm talking about turning up, playing competiitively for the length of the game, and not just turning it on in bursts when the team feels like it. If you/we can't do that, 16th deservedly beckons. As winners like Roy Keane recognise, the best players, and best people in any job, want to be good players all the time - they're passionate, perfectionist, and demanding. Foorball is a game with many variables - I get that - but I still think morally, and however, naively, there should be refunds for fans in exactly the same way there would be in other jobs where a professional fails to do the job. They play for 20 minutes; we pay for 20. Quite a lot of the more enlightened people were saying the same thing after the Coventry debacle, and, if the board had put out a statement to the effect that travelling fans were getting their money back, and it was coming out of the players' wages, what a stand that would hae been!

(Cue the usual suspects lining up to take their crackpot shots at me.)

Apparently, the likes of you and me are, according to one poster (though he likes to single me out to give it to me in the neck like a laughing policeman), morons for daring to suggest a good football team plays for 100% of the game. I guess it never dawns on him he might be part of the mentality problem.

I do. And I think he's a more talented player than Bannan if he could top it off with some mature match smarts, plus coaching.

SE as you have made the comparison, do you ever had a bad day at work? Days when you are feeling sluggish or mildly off colour or unwell. Times when you are not at 100%, not thinking clearly or lacking in inspiration?

Apart from all that, football as well as some other sports are different; You have an opponent who is doing everything they can to cause you problems to ruin and frustrate your performance. Then you have a referee who may be contributing to all this by stopping you several times, just when you start to do something positive and thereby handing the initiative back to your opponent. On top of all that you have a boisterous mob who cheer wildly for your opponent whilst berating and abusing you for being on their patch.

In short, it's not easy, nay, virtually impossible, to be excellent at all times.

We just have to keep doing the work to improve and get closer to it, more often.

Indeed.

Stainrod dearie, it's a 46 game slog of a season, if you expect a football team to be at its 100% best for every single game, well, sorry to disappoint you.

But I know that you are 100% fabulous every single day, and that is why we all love you x
