This is a concern and needs to be addressed. We were poor again last night. We have two full backs that do not stop crosses. The two CBs keep making mistakes. Sort it out Sheehan.

I thought the centre backs did well last night. As for the full backs you can't expect them to push up and get back to cut out every cross. I thought their goal was lucky last night a came from a couple of unfortunate things, through Cabangs legs difficult bounce and Vigouroux unsighted. I agree Key can be suspect and needs to improve but Tymon is a very decent player as shown with another assist last night.

But a poor defender but a good crosser
Surely both he and Key can be coached accordingly

Burgess was lucky not to give away a pen. The goal we conceded was poor. It was the same against Hull, Millwall, and Birmingham.

They were incidents which could have gone either way but we were lucky last night
We could have lost to a dire outfitlike Blackburn
We have the talent there to destroy teams
We won’t do that walking and stroking the ball sideways and backwards last night when we moved it quick , we score and we’ll
It’s frustrating

We can do this league and and can prove this by taking Leicester , an obnoxious outfit

I put tymon ahead of player like Eom & Franco purely down to his consistency and strength on the ball. Definitely better than Key and on last nights showing Benson. Very valuable despite what certain people say, rarely has a bad game, a real danger going forwards and chips in with goals. Along with Vigouroux and Vipotnik (currently) with Galbraith very reliable game changers. I will add Ronald to that he’s had a good start.

Idah did what he had to do last night, no complaints.

A great believer in taking anything you like to wherever you want to.

Cantwell dived the goal was unlucky in my opinion going through Cabango legs and a unsighted Vig

And in fairness the goal we conceded against Brum was a brilliant cross hard to defend against

Both Tymon and Key are good going forward but struggle defensively and have since they’ve been with us,Tymon particularly got caught out a lot last night ,the Blackburn No2 went passed him for fun and got a lot of crosses in ,only good central defending and luck stopped Blackburn scoring , it was pretty much the same on Keys side , we have to improve this part of our game as teams are definitely targeting our flanks
The stats show Blackburn had 32 crosses to our 9 last night , astonishing , we can’t keep letting that happen as it’s bound to cost us eventually but is something we can rectify in training ,if not then we’re going to have to get a pair of better fullbacks if we’re going to progress

Unfortunately Key played a part for their goal as he went back onto the goal line playing on the Blackburn player who was stood in front of Vig and who would have been offside if Key was in line with the other defenders. He wasn’t marking anyone so shouldn’t have dropped back.

And if Key was able to clear off the line we would have been singing his praises. Possibly he was following instructions, we have made several clearances off the line this season.

Some teams have players who can get crosses in alot more than us and I suspect that its probably because they have been instructed to do that, the first chance you can get the cross in.

You say they had 32 crosses in and only scored off one of them, id say thats good on our defenders.

The ball was headed from around twelve yards out, our players pushed near the six yard line apart from Key who went back to near the goal line playing on a player who got in the way of Vig making a save and who would of been offside if Key had made the right decision to stay in line. It wasn’t the only reason the goal came about but it was the critical one

Last season we put well over 900 crosses into the box the third highest in the league. Tymon alone has put in 43 this season.

Only Boro, Stoke & Charlton have conceded less than us.

We are 2 points off an automatic promotion place & without some poor refereeing decisions we'd be 2nd.

Surely a time to be happy?

Just saying

Defence is generally pretty solid apart from the odd brain fart. Teams are always going to get chances at this level and we also have probably the best keeper in the division.

Frustrating though we do seem to be conceding the same type of goals. Three games on the trot now we’ve conceded headers from pretty close range, two of them unchallenged. Set pieces remain an Achilles heel too.

Poll: We all dream of a managerial team of Alan Tates?

I did say we had good central defending , I’m just concerned by the amount of crosses they managed, the more we allow the greater the chance of conceding,Blackburn marked our wide men tighter which limited us to only 9
I agree with you about opposing players told to get the ball in quicker and I wish we’d do the same because I think we’re capable and on the occasions we do , we’ve managed to score
Like I said it’s something that can definitely be improved in training ,Dyer and Routledge were brilliant at helping and protecting our fullbacks and I think our current wingers are more than capable of doing the same

Key is targeted by opposition , quite clearly
He’s a weak link in an otherwise sound defence
We want the best
We can do this

It certainly seems to be the case that people are nit picking specifically for reasons to keep on at the current scapegoats.

Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back.

Well we cant be doing too bad atm, we have conceded 7 in 8 games, only the top 2 and charlton have conceded less.

No , not scapegoats , merely pointing out deficiencies that cost us
Those bastards who do have scapegoats also praise when it’s due and praise to Vigsroux last night
