Owain Glyndwr flags 19:22 - Oct 15 with 1721 viewstrampie

In my neck of the woods a couple of Owain Glyndwr flags have gone up, is this in support of 'raise the colours' or is it the opposite ?

Is 'raise the colours' a keep the boat people out message ?, whereas the flag of Glyndwr more of a keep the original boat people out message ?, the area has English signposts blacked out, yes Cymru stickers about and I even seen a white Eagle symbol.

I don't know the meaning of those particular flags but my guess is its not in support of 'raise the flags'.

I'm just wondering what those flags stood for in this instance, that is all.

Well....I'd say they're not promoting Hamas and raising issues closer to home.

That's a decent starting point to take them seriously...wouldn't you agree?

There is a group in Swansea that support 'raising the colours' and this being a Swansea football site I thought a poster on here might know if there is a significance to the Owain Glyndwr flags as opposed to Union Jack's that have been put up in some areas like parts of Swansea.

Only to a point as the Senedd elections are so close they think there is no point in splitting the right wing vote, but once the vote is over they are going to be supporting another right wing party, I hear Tommy Robinson is supporting that party as well.
A lot of these groups have fallen out of love with Farage, they think he is all for himself and the elites and that he can't be trusted, so perhaps on that score they have a point.

The video I seen it looked like they were on a footbridge at the bottom of the Hafod, not far from Dyfatty flats, Carmarthen Road sort of area, a right wing group based in Swansea put a video up not so long ago where they were flying flags.

No idea, I doubt the Union Jack's are still there as councils have been said to be taking them down due to them being a distraction to drivers, plus November 5th is coming up.
There again the Owain Glyndwr flags have been up for weeks now and they haven't been taken down so who knows.

Welsh Reform voters are using this flag in order to project Welshness while d promoting a party who do not have a policy on the Senedd. Their Welsh supporters who post on line are mostly in favour the abolition of the Senedd and limited self rule. Many if them prefer the Union flag and using the OG flag for convenience only

It is a scam. Wave the flag to impress the unsophisticated and then shut the Senedd they see as a cabal of leftist woke type.

UK have traditionally been ambivalent about flag compared to other countries. Never trust a man wrapped in a flag. It is an optical trick.

Waving a flag and singing the anthem wins nothing as all Welsh fans know.

Reformers want to take the country back but will resist effective measures like the introduction of mandatory ID card s

I imagine they stand for Owain Glyndwr, a staunch ally of Richard II who fought alongside him and his English army in campaigns against the lords of Wales and Scotland.

Although I rarely agree Trampie and think the rabid Welsh nationalists and rabid British nationalists have a lot more in common than he would admit, he is right about the lads with the Union Jacks and the Reform banners. They were there an hour ago and had a lot of support from passing motorists

Thing is the “rabid nationalists” are nowhere near significant or numerous enough to even come close to win a general election. But if the polls are to be believed reform are sitting around 38%. There has been a massive shift towards ordinary mild mannered people who were previously pretty tolerant and welcoming of outsiders now saying this has gone way too far.

It’s assumed that reform are picking up a lot of votes from dissatisfied Tories which is probably true but if you look at the areas reform seem to be gaining most traction it’s the industrial heartlands where Labour have ruled for a century.

It’s the biggest seismic shift since Labour did the exact same thing to the Liberals in the 1920’s.

My understanding is that the political system in this country has been simplified in that if you vote for Labour you're a t*** & Reform a raving fully paid up member of the nazi party .Less said about the rest to be better.

I meant in terms of ideology not significance, but yes, you’re absolutely right.

Your first paragraph probably applies to me.

I don’t think I’ve got very much at all in common with the Rangers as a second team mob, but I may find myself voting with them.

Like many, I’m looking at the type of party I’d never have considered in the past. I probably won’t vote reform, but it’s not the definite no it would have been.

I don't know what you class as, or your definition of what constitutes rabid British and rabid Welsh nationalists ?

I don't know any of either type, there may be no Welsh types and less than 100 British types (in England/Wales), are there any Welsh proscribed groups ? - don't think so, are there any proscribed British nationalist groups - may be a few in number. I don't really know.

To quote my cousin, he is a HGV driver, I really can't see anything that the Senedd has done for me, apart from block the M4 , which means I often run out of Tacho time. So I'm voting Reform in the May elections out of protest and in the hope that some politicians start listening.
He's not a rabid nationalist nazi, he rarely talks about politics, he and his wife work full time and juggle work with bringing up their daughter.
Those on the left calling Reform voters far right nationalists or nazis are just winding up the disillusioned ordinary voter and feeding the Reform vote.
