| What happened to Matsuki 18:08 - Oct 26 with 1184 views | GRIM | Matsuki scored a screamer & we've not seen him since. He's not been included in any of the recent match day squads. Is he injured ?. | | | | |
| What happened to Matsuki on 18:15 - Oct 26 with 1142 views | 1885_SFC | He wasn't in the squad and didn't travel yesterday apparently. He's either ill/got a bug - or his rimming skills are poor over at Staplewood with the gaffer. | |

| What happened to Matsuki on 18:17 - Oct 26 with 1140 views | Southamptonfan | The manager doesn't rate him, after that cracking goal. He would rather play Stephens in midfield, who was dropped from defence himself, after being made captain. [Post edited 26 Oct 18:18]

It should be noted at this point that our recent history is littered with those who have scored "Cracking goals" early in their Saints careers, Sofiane Boufal & Moussa Djenepo, to name but two. An honourable mention to Damion Downs in the pre season friendly at Espanyol as well

I thought he was in Peaky Blinders
| What happened to Matsuki on 08:42 - Oct 28 with 383 views | jopreston | I have never really brought into this theory of managers being told who to play, but in this case it does seem almost as if he is told to play all the players that SR think they can sell on for the best return. Matsuki being Japanese will likely never fetch as good a fee as certain other players in Midfield and so he is frozen out as his resale has far less priority over Jander and Charles maybe. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

To be fair both Jander & Charles are better players than Matsuki. But I just can't understand why Matsuki was included in all the squads early season, scores a worldy then gets totally neglected. We were so short on midfield players against Blackburn that WS decided to use Slack Jack in a position that is alien to him Talk about a Square Peg in a Round Hole !.. What has Matsuki done to be omitted from the squad. It appears to me that someone at the club has decided that certain players should not be involved, who that is I do not know, but we should be utilising every single player on the books regardless of whether the coach likes them or not. Both Aribo & Edozie are better players than some that are currently in the squad. [Post edited 28 Oct 15:30]

That's right, but I don't remember players scoring cracking goals,.playing brilliantly, running around, looking classy like Matsuki did that night, then being dropped? I guess we'll never know if he is a good.player long term, because we have barely seen him since.
