Main stand volume 18:47 - Jan 22 with 9935 views | Rodingdale | Ridiculous either turn it down or get speakers than can deal with the volume. But why does Sweetmore shout, absolutely impossible to have a conversation before the game or at half time. It’s not a nightclub Dave!!

Couldn't clearly hear a word in The Sandy, just tannoy mumblings from the main stand. We were deafened pre-Covid. From one extreme to another.

Main stand volume on 09:42 - Jan 23 with 6932 views | _Windydale | I know it's not a priority, but an upgrade of the sound system Is a necessity to improve the whole matchday experience. I don't mind Dave Sweetcorn and the music plays and also his dj style brand of commentary. Against Bradford it was a good set list.

One thing we shouldn't forget is the way the young lad had his career disrupted when Sweetmore had a meltdown after he'd left Dale His reinstating was a disgrace, and remains a stain on Dale's part. He stinks of the old regime

Yep, another Bottomley sycophant I’m told.
Main stand volume on 11:13 - Jan 23 with 6727 views | EllDale | He’s worked his way further into the club since Bottomley left as well. Does stadium tours and half term activities as well. I agree with Sandyman as well - the PA was inaudible in the Sandy yesterday. It’s gone from the ridiculous to the sublime. Didn’t have a clue was what he saying, just heard a low mumble. I reiterate what I said on another thread a few months ago, if the stadium announcer cannot be heard clearly or concisely then what happens in case of an emergency? The club could be breach of the safety licence.

The sound system is an integral part of the safty protocols of the Stadium. If there are parts,of the ground where announcements cannot be heard on matchdays, you would assume that it would be a major cause for concern. I was in the Sandy Lane End yesterday and mentioned that it sounded as though he was playing "Oliver's Army" which Costello has apparently asked not to be played any more, others said they couldn't hear anything! Many might say this is an ideal situation given the musical choices but it does need fixing..... Time to call Wigwam in Heywood! https://www.wigwam.co.uk/Wigwam/Home | | | | Login to get fewer ads

Which is why my kids unfortunately won’t be doing such things as tours. I’m not handing over money to contribute to the wage of someone who calls users of this forum “peados” (sic).

The club need reminding of that How is that different from the complaint the board put into the EFL/FA due to comments made by Andrew Curran?

It's a very good point about the safety announcements. There was one yesterday at around 4.30pm, which was completely inaudible in Pearl Street. I don't really care about the music as I'm there for the football, but I do like to be able to talk to the people next to me without having to shout. I also like to know which players are involved in substitutions for the opposition, but I'm afraid it is completely impossible to make any sense of what's being said. I did raise this issue with the Trust earlier in the season, but nothing seems to have happened.

Main stand volume on 13:23 - Jan 23 with 6479 views | Rodingdale | I don’t have a view on Sweetmore himself I get that the playlist is part of our identity, but it’s the sheer volume. We sit behind the Clough statue and the sound is bordering painful, I suspect if it were a workplace it would be a requirement to wear ear defenders. I travel up to take my Dad to matches and it is really impossible to speak to each other at half time or before the game. I’ll write to the trust and the club again - I know we’re not the only ones to find the noise to be extreme.

Main stand volume on 15:46 - Jan 23 with 6234 views | golfaduffy | Couple of observations. When sweetcorn left, and the new chap took over, it wasn't anyone else's fault other than Bottomley and Frances fielding who reinstalled sweetmore behind the new tannoymans back. And has for the volume, I raised it ages ago with the trust but the person who agreed wholeheartedly that it was a f*****g disgrace is now in the board room at half time, so perhaps has forgotten .

Talking of extreme, the Cloughie legacy offered to pay for a new tannoy system to be installed, but when the club came back with a verbal quote of over £100,000 we declined! Obviously.

Sweetmore obviously doesn't understand the concept of a microphone 🎤. To make it clear, a microphone allows you to be heard by many people (unless you stand in the Sandy) without the need to shout. If that is too difficult for him to understand, he should step down and allow someone with a wider range of music to take his place.

Main stand volume on 00:18 - Feb 13 with 4845 views | Sandyman | Afraid to say it's not possible to hear announcements in The Sandy. Towards the end of the game (about 75-80 minutes if memory serves) Dave made an announcement of some length. We could only hear unclear mumblings behind the goal. If that was something important we would have missed it.

It's the same announcement every game. The car park is closed for 10 mins after final whistle. I would imagine most users of the car park are ST holders and would have sussed that by now anyway. [Post edited 13 Feb 2022 12:56]

I was witness today to a discussion between a club employee and director having a very positive chat about how to adjust the levels. I was asked about the WMG levels I experienced today which were fine for me. Club employee was very detailed in his understanding of the volume controls and what he could do from the control box. All in all, obvious attempts from club to address the issue.
