Massive gamble going to the Brewery Field. Basically alienating what’s left of the ‘supporters’ from the Swansea, Neath, Aberavon & valleys areas.

There are still big numbers travelling from this area to Cardiff for internationals. If a region is dropped from this area there will be a big impact in the future on crowds going to internationals.

There shouldn’t really even be a debate, the worst region on the field has been Newport. They should have their funding cut as they have done the least to deserve it. Poor on the field, relatively low numbers of internationals being produced from the region, yet still on equal funding to the Ospreys etc.

Easy transport links, ground within walking distance from train station which is better than St Helens.

Hopefully the Bridgend public will get behind it more than the pitiful crowds in Swansea (& that's not a dig).

I just sense that the move to the Brewery Field for a season is to delay the St Helens building start for a couple of weeks until the WRU have informed everyone of their long-term plans. Ospreys had something like this in mind because up until now there were no season or match day tickets available.

Would make absolutely no sense to start the redevelopment of St. Helens until they know that there's going to be a team to play in it.

Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back.

If the WRU decide it's the Ospreys to go then what an opportunity to raise the profile of the All Whites ?

It can only raise its profile by raising the quality of the opposition. They play sides with great heritage now but are nothing like their former selves - Ebbw Vale, Bridgend, Neath etc.

Agree it’s easy access from rail station & I hope the Bridgend public get behind them.

The pitiful crowds have dwindled from decent crowds not that long ago. Playing on irregular days at silly times, often going weeks without a home game, with weakened squads does not lend itself to building a loyal support base. Hopefully the Bridgend faithful will turn out in numbers & come to St Helens if it gets developed.

It doesn’t help that Cardiff always get the Friday evening slot for home matches & Ospreys seem to get the Sunday evening slot at the end of the weekend. Strange that ??

Will the Ospreys go completely? There are currently 5 regions in Wales with RGC in the North who play in the Super Rygbi Cymru. If the Ospreys dropped out of the top level would they just drop down a level instead of disbanding?

This gives a better explanation of Super Rygbi Cymru the level down from the top four regions.

Scarlets have announced fresh investment - with USA based firm House of Luxury - whose sports division is headed up by the former WRU chief executive, David Moffett.

House of Luxury has acquired a 55 per cent controlling stake in the Scarlets, and have already assumed non-rugby operational leadership in partnership with the club’s existing board.

Dan Biggar is on House of Luxury’s sports advisory board, but won’t be involved in the organisation’s day-to-day running of the Scarlets.

House of Luxury will also take on the Scarlets’ existing financial debt!!

Everyday above ground ... Is a good day! 😎

They must be confident of survival in their present form .

Presumably the Sgarets in their current form will continue without WRU support. They then can do what they like and and play in the United League.

If it is two regions i with WRU support in the English league it will be Cardiff and Swansea as they have the populations to generate receipts. The St Helens scheme looked dubious from day one.

If Ospreys play Leicester and Northampton and Cardiff every other week 8.000 is too small with parking issues. If they want to be the chosen team then shrinkage is not an option They need to at least half fill the Swansea.com stadium with all the hospitality boxes hires out to the Saeson generating good cash.

Mr Gooringe may be open to some sot of renegociation with a 5 year sweetener deal.

How many travelling leicester fans are there? 2000? I recall 20,000 capacity for Ospreys Wasps around 2007 or so. No point joining the English with a shoe box stadium in my view.

I'd bet that capacity can be increase if needs be. The side of the pitch will now be along the rec side rather than the road sode so they could likley put anohter tier on there and maybe put it around the Bryn road end too.

They use the rec ground for parking but it's not far to walk from the city centre (or catch a bus) where there's plenty of parking.

You're problem is you are not looking at the big picture, you are looking through blinkers and don't see the possibilities.
The Ospreys need their own home, their own identity and to be able to make their own decisions about their stadium.
