Moving to the USA? 23:10 - Nov 4 with 26153 views | thame_hoops | I know a few here are ex-pats living in the US now, Mark in Baltimore to spring a name. How easy is it to move to the US, get a visa etc ? I met a girl in Fort Worth recently and I’ve been over twice to see her, just wondered what others have experienced etc? I know Google is free but people here are always a fountain of knowledge and experience

Moving to the USA? on 11:44 - Feb 5 by thame_hoops | Update She came over to Oxon/London for a week over Christmas and loved it here. Then I went back out with her to Texas for a week to see in the new year. Best NYE ever. Heading back there this Friday for the Superbowl and Valentines lol for 10 nights. We're seeing how it goes this year, She's worried I'll find it too hot there in the summer but so far so good. We text all the time an FaceTime most days, still in the honeymoon period I guess. All from a Bumble match too, crazy. You R's |
Good for you! He, or she, who dares etc. Would it help if, when you next Facetime'd, we all joined in on the call? The rich church of diversity from geezers to assorted intelligentsia on here, all talking you up and in the King's English, may well allay any fears you or she, may have. After which, assuming we're broadly happy, we can sign off the LFW paperwork on this. I can perform the ceremony if you want...gratis, of course. Ohhh, and have we identified her fromage preferences? Really hope she does not come back with 'American' for so many reasons. Anyway, best of luck to y'all!

I've lived in CA since 2007, its definitely changed a lot over here with regard to the politcal climate and division. Like seriously the wrong small town and it can get weird with the MAGA thing. I had a guy holler at me in a gas station recently in AZ cuz i have Cali plates on my car. Wont be long until things get violent since the J6 felons were pardoned and they feel like the President is behind them. Shame cuz i really loved it out here for ages, now I'm likely to move back to UK in the coming years as thinhgs degrade. I hear the UK is kinda following suit tho?

Pity you had to infect a lovely thread with your post there itsbiga its full of nonsense. You or anybody else have nothing to fear from the J6 felons as you call them because they are free now and in lots of cases were overcharged . The guy hollered at you because California is one of the worst run run state in the union and just look at the way that recent horrific fire was handled and that will answer your question why he even said anything .I do think he was totally out of line though its not his business what plates you have . Small towns are the life blood of America and you have nothing to fear from MAGA hat wearing people. You are much worse off in the Sanctuary cities where crime and violence goes on but thankfully the gangs are being taken care of as we speak. I have lived here since the late 80s and luckily have never had an incident with anybody of any race or political affilations and found the American people very welcoming and safe to be around as you said you have so far .Your opinion that things are going to get violent is just that and does an injustice to there people IMO

Thought I’d give an update on my last post back in February. So I went back to Texas for the Super Bowl, my girlfriend was having pain in her left arm so she went for a CT scan scan, then an MRI, I extended my stay by an extra week. She ended up being told she needed to have an operation to replace a disc in her neck I arrived back home late February. Within a couple of days of me arriving home, she got her appointment date for early March to have an operation. So I went back for two weeks to help with the convalescence. The surgeon replaced a disc with a titanium/ceramic disc. Everything went well and she came to England for five nights over Easter, to meet my sisters and Mum properly as Christmas time was a bit rushed. She also got to meet my friends. We did a day at Lords for Middlesex County cricket, Warwick Castle, Bath and Bourton on the water. I went back to Texas three weeks ago, stayed for two weeks, and proposed, we are now engaged. We are looking at getting married late July, then she is going to petition for me to move there by completing the I-130 form. This will take around a year to approve, high success rate, I can apply for a green card once this is authorised. The plan going forward is for me to work three weeks in England and one week in Texas. Fly out every four weeks. this should be sustainable for a year. As someone that’s not religious, that wasn’t brought up to be religious, I’ve been going to Catholic Church to try and understand it all. Her and her family are Catholics…also for what it’s worth, Democrats. [Post edited 12 Jun 21:53]
