A massive game tomorrow away to Wycombe. It could go a long way in deciding who goes up automatically with Birmingham.

Except everyone else isn't independent. There is that!

The Americans watch the world cup but still many haven't a clue where Wales is.

These are people who recently voted for that PoS Trump.

American’s with the education to know their own Declaration of Independence would certainly know the welsh.

There is that ……🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿🤝🇺🇸

No matter what something, all Americans have heard of England , most of Scotland but few of Wales
Changing the name for international purposes will make it less known, although it will sate language fascists
A way to make a small country even smaller

They know the King of England cos they kicked his ass out …. Just like Cymru should do… 😉

They know Ireland well due to the fact that over 1 million Irish fled there in coffin ships to avoid starvation under British rule. Another 1 million were not so lucky and starved to death whilst food was exported from ireland at gun point.

If they know their own Declaration of Independence then they will know Wales well.

Wales haven't played any of those teams for many a year in the World Cup. I actually quoted from my experience talking to locals while travelling. Are yours based on similar or opinion.

No never been to South America, but they know all the world cup teams without a doubt.

I have been to the States and everyone knew wales thanks to the power of sport and culture.
Of course Wales drew with USA in the Qatar world cup.

I had to tell them the Prince of Wales was not welsh though, they seemed a bit disappointed in that fact.

With the intelligence, well then, there's a good question. How many of them know the declaration? How many of them know the date, the signatories? How many Americans know that 3 founding fathers and eleven presidents had Welsh ancestry?

1057?

Now as it goes they teach the declaration etc in their schools and they all swear the oath every day too, I think but, all that being so it's still true that a very large number of Americans don't have a clue where Wa;les is and besides, it's England.

So no, there isn't that, all that is, is your opinion and not a fact...there is THAT!

Most Americans I’ve met in a sports setting know of Wales, on a wider degree I doubt many do. In Spain, in the areas that are not deemed real Spain, tourist Spain, like new Benidorm, Estero an etc and all along that coast Wales is well known through tourism.

I’ve lived here for a lot of years. If I’ve met three people in that time who were born and raised here that know of Wales I would be surprised. The only thing that resonates with them are the names Gareth Bake or Ryan Giggs, that will bring about a distant acknowledgment but they don’t know about the country. Nor really know where it is.

Yep similar experiences & I have travelled to many countries.

Think a few are telling porkies or normally travel for international football when the majority in that country are aware they are playing football against a team called Wales.

The largest ethnic group signing the Declaration of Indepence from the English crown was Welsh.

Sixteen of the signatories of the Declaration of Independence were of Welsh descent including William Floyd, Stephen Hopkins, Arthur Middleton, Robert Morris, Francis Lewis, and Button Gwinnett, revolutionary governor of Georgia and a general in the Patriot Corps.
Just 56 people signed in total.

There have been eleven US Presidents of Welsh descent: John Adams, Thomas Jefferson, James Madison, James Monroe, John Quincy Adams, William Harrison, Abraham Lincoln, James Garfield, Benjamin Harrison, Calvin Coolidge and Richard Nixon. Jefferson Davis was President of the Confederate States of America.

America should be very grateful to Wales.

This was the real Welsh rebellion and created the leading country in the western world.
Kicked your old King of England into touch and built a great nation.

Nobody gets out of this life alive, but these welsh men left an incomparable legacy.

I get that you prefer to live your own life on your knees, and thats fair enough. Enjoy.
You must be a great admirer of the late George Thomas MP ..

Big win for Wrexham against Stockport, it might be down to a two horse race now for the second automatic promotion spot with Stockport and Charlton both losing, although it might still be slight advantage to Wycombe who have loads more home games left compared to Wrexham and they have a much better goal difference as well but there is not much in it now between the two with Wrexham having played the top teams.

Continually being banned by Planet Swans for Porthcawl and then being reinstated.

Shout out for Merthyr today, Merthyr won and Totten lost, I think Merthyr are 9 points clear of Totten now, Merthyr have 6 games left and Totten 7 games left.

Fantastic stuff. Merthyr were losing at half time too.
I said a few weeks back that I thought Merthyr had blown it as they were drawing too many games while Totton seemed to be on a run. But Merthyr are undefeated in 31 games now. Incredible.
Gosh imagine the meltdown on here if Merthyr get promoted. Haha

Ymlaen

And yet hardly anybody in the USa knew of Wales but the irish are everywhere!

Biden tried to make a lot of his irish roots, the Welsh presidents didn't do so, O wonder why?
pparently around 2 million Americans are of Welsh heritage. About 30 million are Irish though, that explains it. The big difference is, as you say, the Welsh were heavily involved in the declaration, the irish did a lot of digging!

Because they are a Welsh club whose ground used to host big international games and they are renovating their ground so future internationals could be played there, therefore rewarding the loyal who travel an awkward journey to cardiff to watch their country.

Apparently the players think they should concentrate on training facilities as they don't have any, instead of the stadium at the moment. The owners seem to be all show, typical Americans.
