It’s been an absolute chore watching Lancs last season and this. Capitulation after capitulation with an insipid bowling attack. We are in real danger of finishing rock-bottom of division two at this rate.

It’s not all on Beneknstein, but you have to think a fresh approach from the coaching side of things has to be at least the first place to start.

If they have a poor T-20 then he might be gone before the end of the season. Otherwise I assume he will survive the season and they will review the last 2 years. He might need to do a " Ange Postecoglou " - always win something in his second year!!

So they have fired him today before the first T-20 game, the correct decision in my opinion. Croft named as interim coach & hopefully he can spark a good performance in the T-20

With his track record he should never have been appointed. A bit like expecting Bentley to produce attractive, winning football.

In both cases it was the cheap option.

Two good victories and an excellent performance on debut by Barnard today. A change of voice and format will hopefully do the team good. Livingstone should be back soon as well to provide a few more options.

Pace in first 6 overs is a nightmare at OT in the T20 so far.

Thu Worcs were slow on the uptake and we blundered 70-0
Lancs likewise didn’t really cotton on and only bowled one (tight) over by Green in first six (59-1)

Yesterday both teams much more switched onto this.

Notts bowled 3 overs (14 runs) of spin and 3 pace (45 runs)
Lancs had Green and Barnard on early, but in truth Aspinwall made biggest impact with his wickets early on

Not sure why Wells decided to ignore all that had come before (including his crucial spell on Thu) and abandon bowling his spin to instead bowl an over of medium pace first up (18 runs)

Good two wins, built on two great opening partnerships. Wells slogs to leg-side and Jennings scoop/ramps a-plenty.

Great to see middle order get us over the line.

Hurst is not convincing at 3 at all and glove-work is so-so.
Jones fantastic knock and Bosh great too.
Green at the end - his last 2 balls went for 4&6 in the 20th over - so fab for him to get us over the line.
Tough place to go so awesome result! Any win away should be rejoiced.

Has it always been 4 points for a win in T20?

Momentum partially halted today - five wicket defeat to Leicester.

Leicestershire fielding was worth 10 runs alone last night, whereas Lancs was worth about -5.

Small margins in a tight game but certainly a factor. To be fair, their spin bowlers were awesome and far more threatening-this being the biggest factor.

Anyone planning on going down for the Ashes?

The Aussies seem to have screwed up the ticket sales this week. I managed to get tickets for me and a mate for the Gabba test and he is staying on to go to Adelaide and got tickets for that but it was a real process.

Lets hope their cricket team is as big a mess as their ticket agency (or agencies, they have spread ticket sales over Ticketek and Ticketmaster).

Yes I am going down for all the games. Ticket process on the first day was a rip off because you had so little time to pick and book tickets, you had to keep paying a booking fee for each order ( instead of 1 big order) I spent about £70 on booking fees. Paid a decent price for most games, but there were only expensive tickets left for Adelaide when I got online. Sydney was difficult and I had to buy a top price ticket for day 2. Overall quite happy with the total price and seat choice ( other than the booking fee!!)

Gabba should be good as it is the day/night test for the first time in the Ashes. Overall I am expecting us to get a bit of a panning ( as usual) but looking forward to the overall experience

Luke Wood gets a wicket with first ballv Windies today, full delivery at batsmans toes.

Batsman reviewed out of shock, having watched him bowl short of a length every delivery for the last 2 years for Lancashire.

Jimmy Anderson captaining Lancs against Kent at Blackpool

Anyone know if this is a first? Unlikely he'd have been available enough in prior seasons due to international duties

Wonder if he's got an eye on a future leadership role in the Lancs playing setup?

Probably Lancs best day of the season. I assume they will put Kent straight in today with a good chance of a win on the cards. We need it for any chance of the second promotion spot ( I assume Leics will go up).

Weather looks set fair in Blackpool. At 639-9 we've already gained the points to leapfrog Kent at the foot of the table. Can't see us making up enough ground for promotion but already there seems to be a new spirit in the camp

Anderson finally gets the breakthrough after an eighth wicket partnership of 182 - probably too late now. Not bowled since first thing this morning. Why wait till now?
