We have so much more composure with the ball. Not always in the final third, but certainly the other 2/3. And TBH I'm clueless how much of the credit goes directly to AS. But I sure freaking wish we could start the season over!

If we had sacked Williams when we should have we would be pushing for the play offs now.

Three goals out of the last four goals scored by defenders and the other by a midfielder. We still need to sort out the striker situation.

One thing that sticks out for me is if we are under pressure at the back we are now just launching it as far up the pitch as possible instead of playing it out and that’s making a massive difference.

Sunderland v Swansea City : Match day thread UPDATED ** on 17:12 - Apr 12 with 2021 views | AnotherJohn | Excellent result overall, with the Swans having several good moments early on. We went into our shell towards the end, but the defence toughed it out. I thought our central strikers were disappointing today, while Ronald and Eom had pretty good games, at least compared with some recent performances.

Excellent win away to a top six side who haven't lost at home for 19 games plus another clean sheet...we can look forward to Championship football next season whilst them up the road will be playing in league one. Well done Sheehan and team

Sunderland v Swansea City : Match day thread UPDATED ** on 18:11 - Apr 12 with 1674 views | sw02sea | Superb team performance, and genius team setting up by Alan Sheehan 👏👏 Give him the job now, before someone else does The high pressing and closing down was top notch. Lewis O’Brien, what can I say, the guy is inhumane for his work rate. His commitment to our cause is second to none, you’d swear he was born in Penlan ! We have to break the bank to sign him, he is that good for us. If the owners are serious investors, it’s an absolute no brainier. If they sign him on a 4 yr contract, hopefully we’ll get a season out of him, before premiership clubs come calling, and they’ll more than double or treble their investment. The recent team performances and tactics by AS have been light years ahead of our last 2 incumbents ie Martinball & Lukewarm. Who said we’ve got a shite squad? and see what a “proper” coach / manager can do with them. After the turnaround of these players and performances, it would be football madness to now let him go. And go he would too, because he’s had a taster of being the boss, excelled at it, and isn’t going to settle for less. Sign him up !

Sunderland v Swansea City : Match day thread UPDATED ** on 18:35 - Apr 12 with 1543 views | onehunglow | Although very happy with that result ,I'm still seething at the now quite evident way previous coaches have cupped us up Sheehan has shown what nan management is about , for a start The damage done the the two jerks was significant and Sheehan has given us a football enema We should be nowhere near relegation zone Surreal and aspirations destroyed by Kaplan and levein This was one of the big names we beat We belong at the top table and not been as trailer tradh We need to get our mojo back , our fanbase, the stadium bouncing again and get demanding again

I stated after the Plymouth game (see my Apr 10 posts, "Likely candidates for the Swans job") that the Sunderland game was " a crucial game for Sheehan". If Swans win, then his value goes up tremendously and more teams will be drawn in and become interested in doing their due diligence on him. We need to sign him now before a bigger club discusses a bigger offer for him than we can afford. I honestly believe we should've signed him after the Plymouth game and before this game. Now Swans may have to pay more money to sign him permanently due to other teams' interest in him. Management/board need to stop dithering and sign him now!

I've said it since the lids draw that he was the man for the job. I just hope as you say our useless owners will probably balls it up and another club will come in and poach him and you wouldn't blame him.

You would need to be very nieve if you didn't think that the football powers that be were not tracking Sheehan. He's being reported throughout all media outlets here and abroad. If we wait until the end of the season instead of forcing a commitment now we will lose out. It would be the final straw that broke the owners back. Mess this up and there is no way back for them, they would be finished with the supporters.
