He was a registered Cardiff player. The transfer had been completed and he had signed a contract. He was totally the responsibility of Cardiff FC. It was Cardiff's fault he was not insured and Cardiff should have insisted he took a flight on a regular airline or a reputable charter flight.
How on earth can Cardiff claim they would have avoided relegation if he played the rest of the season.

No it was the clubs insurance company’s fault he wasn’t insured which is why they paid out £8 million last year….also Nantes agent was banned and HE put him on that plane not ccfc or anything to do with ccfc. There is a precedent with Tevez and Mascerano which was the opposite scenario. West Ham had to pay Sheffield Utd on the perception that Marlon Harwood Mark Noble and co would not have garnered enough points if they were playing without the two Argentina internationals.
