I’ve lost track & interest in this saga & can’t be bothered to read up on it. Does this mean that they have still haven’t coughed up what they owe for him or am I missing something ?

Cardiff have counter-sued Nantes - arguing that Nantes, through its agent Willie McKay, had arranged the flight.

Cardiff says the crash and its subsequent relegation cost it €120 million.

Nantes ars a disgrace and should have come to an agreement. It is not natural justice that Nantes have been paid in full and carry no responsibility for the tragic events.

He was a registered Cardiff player. The transfer had been completed and he had signed a contract. He was totally the responsibility of Cardiff FC. It was Cardiff's fault he was not insured and Cardiff should have insisted he took a flight on a regular airline or a reputable charter flight.

How on earth can Cardiff claim they would have avoided relegation if he played the rest of the season.

RIP Sala.

So if they go down again this year will they try to blame that on Nantes as well? I mean it’s obvious to anyone that understands football that had this tragedy not happened Cardiff would be playing PSG in the semi final of the Champions League by now.

It appears someone at Nantes FC invited Sala to a leaving party and left the costs of his transport to their de factor agent who may have been disqualified. The costs were considered perhaps part of the report edly substantial overall rate.

The accident was negligence not bad luck with a a jailed transport firm and unsuitable pilot and a unsuitable plane. The pilot was reportedly paid a derisory fee in cash by and agent who was reported to be disqualified by the football authorities.

Cardiff would have expected the Nantes team to treat theirs very expensive player with decency. If these are the facts which will be examined in court I would think Cardiff would have a reasonable claim.

It is not clear of Nantes have been paid in full with their agent getting a cut of the fee. There was ample budget for a private jet. The club and agent treated the player disgracefully in my opinion.

Obviously I am not an expert in French law but understand the concept of fairness and justice.

It appears.
May have been.
Concidered perhaps.
Reported to be.
Would have expected.
It's not clear.
In my opinion.
Obviously I'm not an expert.

I've never seen so many non factual statements, except for the last one, in one post a record even for you.

Natural fairness is the basis for successful economies leading to peaceful countries reading with each other. This leads to wealth. We are now in world where posturing and aggression are to the fore with long term consequences..

Even if Cardiff win this how can any sensible person accept that with Sala they wouldn't have been relegated?

We got Bony and Ayew back and still went down. it's a mad claim and any sensible court, even if they decide Catdiff are due comoenation, it can only be for the players value because anything else is pure speculation and opinion, there is nothing factual.

So, if he arrived at Cardiff Airport and got into a car with someone who wasn’t a representative of Cardiff City, and that car crashed and he died, the blame would fall on someone else.

Nobody can deny Cardiff were incompetent by not insuring one of their most expensive assets. There lies the major issue in the whole of this prolonged tragic saga. I feel for the family with this continually rumbling on. Hopefully for them this will end soon.

No it was the clubs insurance company’s fault he wasn’t insured which is why they paid out £8 million last year….also Nantes agent was banned and HE put him on that plane not ccfc or anything to do with ccfc. Nantes fans hate their dodgy owner and I can see why. No winners here but if any of you have had a bad divorce you will know who the only winners are….

Tha's not my question...

How can any sensible person believe that Sala would have saved them from relegation? There is zero way to prove that.

I know, I'm just stating a fact that the usual one doesn't want to believe cause he's under his usual delusion that he's right, when again as usual he's wrong.

Regarding your question, we are not dealing with sensible people they still believe they are bigger than Barcelona.

If Willie Mcckay was employed by Nantes and not Cardiff then why were his two sons given two and a half year contracts at Cardiff despite not being good enough for the Scottish lower leagues?

There is a precedent with Tevez and Mascerano which was the opposite scenario. West Ham had to pay Sheffield Utd on the perception that Marlon Harwood Mark Noble and co would not have garnered enough points if they were playing without the two Argentina internationals.

How in that case did they PROVE Harwood would have scored as many as Tevez did? Proof is not required.

The agent was working for Nantes as I understand it and was s due at least to be paid by Nantes not Cardiff. The agent matched a seller to a buyer which is his job. Nantes employed him and he made arrangements for the player on their behalf it seems. The Court will determine the facts and come to a decision.

Cardiff will hope to settle out of court or get a part successful result.

It is a bit strange that clubs seem to sign both his sons on long contracts when he’s not working for them though only for them to be immediately sent on loan to lower league Scottish/non league clubs and still not be good enough to play for them.

Isn’t it?

I suspect the ex Manager made these calls and advised the club of who to sign up . What fans call "proper football people" .
