The Neath you remember is no comparison to the Neath now. It's completely run down and it will only get worse with the loss of the reasonably well paid jobs the steel works provided. It seemed to start with the Llandarcy closure and has escalated since then.

If me and Mrs jump on train at Neath to Cardiff on their match day, we usually see a few and then a lot more at Port Talbot, just general footie fans they never cause a scene or any issues in fairness.

They are trying to improve areas, but since M&S has gone there's nothing the there, the market used to be vibrant, but it's gone quiet there now. That's what you get when the Welsh Government put all their focus and funding in the Capital.

Yes seriously it's sad how it's gone, but as you say all of Wales has been ignored in favour of Cardiff

Nonsense. The vape shop and Turkish barber industries are positively booming,

Neath Blueturds on 11:17 - Apr 21 with 1780 views | ReslovenSwan1 | I took my old man to the centre.in his 90s. We visit the new Library . We met a group of school kids about 7-8 doing a "survey". They were all great keen as mustard and respectful. Good to see. I gave them a test asking them what year the old man was born. [Post edited 21 Apr 11:21]

Merthyr has changed dramatically into young Swansea. Sign of the times. As many know Chepstow leading up to Gloucester had a huge Swans support.

Yeah, I work in and around the NPT borough and I very rarely see a Cardiff shirt. Plenty of EPL shirts though.

Which is a pity as it used to be a great place for shopping and pubs , now it's become like too many other towns in Wales with down and outs ,drugs and memories of it's former prominence as it was a rival to Swansea in so many ways .

Many areas of Wales are now suffering because of the Senedd insistence on prioritising SE Wales.

A new £1.2 billion investment in PT. https://oilprice.com/Metals/Commodities/Tata-Steel-Invests-Billions-in-Port-Talb While output drops and jobs lost this investment will give work security for a couple of decades. The Senedd were in on this some time ago. That is why they allowed illegal coal production in Merthyr The redundancies would have been taken on by Ineos at Bridgend but NPT voters and other Welsh people followed Reform advice, not the advice of their own representation who had made provisions. £1.2 billion is big money but not for you or Dr P perhaps?
