Daniel Farke 13:19 - Apr 23 with 3083 views | PatfromPoole | Seems to be a number of rumours that he is about to be sacked by Leeds. Which of course is what we should have done with Brent. Question is, should we get him in if Leeds do the deed???

Daniel Farke on 14:44 - Apr 23 with 2948 views | kingslandstand1 | Simple answer is probably no based on, as jopreston has said, his PL record as also referred to in another thread is not that brilliant Leeds seem to be going hell for leather to ensure they actually do stay up and actually showing big club ambition and if that means changing manager to ensure it, they will [Post edited 23 Apr 14:44]

But we could do the same as Leeds (are potentially about to do). Get him in to get us back up, give him a big pay-off and then get Ancelotti in. Everyone's a winner. PS Not sure that Leeds are about to get Ancelotti....

Ancelloti'll be 103 by the time we get back up! The spanner in your proposal though is the "give him a big pay off" - we are talking SR here, although they have given a few pay offs lately! I see Leeds are also looking to a big expansion up to 56,500 capacity to Elland Rd as well as a bit of a player spending spree so they'll need to stay up

Daniel Farke on 18:50 - Apr 23 with 2616 views | Ron11 | Better to avoid all the speculation until we see how Simon Rusk fares until the end of the season. Could be an unearthed diamond right there....
Daniel Farke on 22:50 - Apr 23 with 2315 views | A1079 | Effectively it is what Cortese did. He realised that as good as Adkins was and much loved to get us to the next level it needed a different type of manager. The record of managers promoting clubs to the PL is not good in recent years. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

It wouldn’t surprise me one bit if Rusk is offered the job if he does ok from now until end of the season. It would be a typical saints appointment.

Spot on. It's costs the Club nothing. That's the way SR work. But, if Simon Rusk does well until the end of the season then we could do a lot worse than give him the job. Only just realised that Simon Rusk has same initials as Sports Republic. Is that an Omen. ?

Doing well is winning 2 out of the last 5. Playing 5 at the back at home won’t win anything

Daniel Farke on 14:42 - Apr 24 with 1579 views | Buggalugs | So we've now got people thinking Rusk is the answer....or that we should hire a recently sacked manager to get us promoted, then sack him ourselves if he does....or we should get Rusty back as he's done it before....or Ralph as everything was great then wtf is going on in peoples heads to think any of these would be a good thing?

I never said Rusk was the answer but sports republic do things on the cheap anyone that thinks we’re going to get a big name is deluded and why would they come here anyway. ? It’s going to take a long time to fix this and to improve our standing in football . I reckon it will be Rusk or Rohl . When was the last time we showed massive ambition and what makes you think all that is going to suddenly change ?

I know you didn't and I agree with you that it is the kind of appointment we'd make. My point is more about just how bonkers it's all gone now and how lots of fans genuinely think getting Martin or Ralph back would be amazing for us. When NJ was sacked and Selles put in as caretaker, we won the next game at Chelsea. That one result was pretty much all it took to convince a sizable section of our fanbase (and our board) that he was the answer, so he got the job permanently. It was a ridiculous knee-jerk decision, much like it would be if we won 2 out of the last 5 games this season with Rusk to then decide he'd be the man to get us back up.
