Seriously though…can anyone remember the names of the two Fullers pubs on the south side of Kew bridge ? Both gone now sold by Fullers for residential and office development.

Just asking for a friend - does getting tanked up, eliminate pain when watching the general fare on show at Rangers.
I used to when I was younger always have two or three pints before a 3pm game.
In my latter years, I hardly drink and most games I attend stone cold sober.
So, is it just the general build up and feeling a bit of a buzz in the local beforehand or is it necessary to be half cut when you go in, as it eases the pain !!!!!
I usually can tell who has had a few near me, because there are comfort breaks every quarter of an hour !!! And they tend to moan more.....
And then it's ten minutes to down a small bottle of Carlsberg at half time very modestly priced and back unto the breach.... |  |

I may have mentioned this before, apologies if so, but I was in the very first Wetherspoons the day it opened. I was working on Colney Hatch Lane, Muswell Hill and (being a smoker back then), had nipped down the road for a pack of Piccadilly, whereupon I noticed a new pub / bar had appeared virtually opposite a larger pub (name escapes me). It had 'opening day' guff over the door, so I thought I'd pop in for a looksee. I really don't remember much about the place, 'cept it was small, nearly empty and there was two huge Aussies working the bar.
The only other point of merit I can recall about that area was that (at that time), a certain 'sleepless' poster who used to inhabit the mb's, lived just down the road toward the North Circ. [Post edited 24 Apr 1:41]

The Plough and The Wagon and Horses.
They were next to each other and I really enjoyed them before they were demolished. Perfect to get pie eyed and a 237 home. Brentford was always a place where I have never left sober. |  | | |

I have either two or three before the game but unfortunately I am seat number 1 in the R Block so any breaks involve going past the whole line. I normally get away with just the one halfway through the first half. |  |

I like 4/5 beers before a game mainly for the social aspect to catch up with my Dad and a few mates, the older I get the earlier in the half I'm having to leave for a pee but overall it adds to the day especially if the game is crap |  | | |
