A Welsh headmasters opinion on 14:26 - Apr 30 with 484 views | Boundy | That was not a good read, our kids development & future prospects are developed in the school environment so what hope have they when all the see and experience are more class over crowding , less s teaching support and a curriculum which does not allow the opportunities for better job prospects .Shame again that it always seems to be Wales which lets its kids down.

A Welsh headmasters opinion on 15:14 - Apr 30 with 455 views | Scotia | For me the biggest and continuing waste in money that should be ringfenced to education in Wales is the provision of free school meals in every primary pupil. We've thrown out a peferectly good system of providing support to the poorest and spent millions upgrading kitchens to provide food to children who's parent can easily afford to pay for it themselves. My daughter get's a free two course lunch (which isn't particualrly healthy) and includes a dessert every school day, it costs the tax payer about £15 a week to feed her. That's about £6k a week for her school alone.
A Welsh headmasters opinion on 22:35 - Apr 30 with 371 views | SullutaCreturned | So as of yet nobody has come along to defend the Senedd on this or cry foul because I've "scoured" social media to be negative about Wales. If this was Westminster (and they are just as crap with our money) people would be lining up and I'm quite surprised Kilky hasn't whatabouted this already. It's not good enough. The Senedd mostly runs Wales and Wales deserves better, our kids futures are being let down by these incompetents.

I thought scouting the media for negative stories about Welsh life was my role , never mind there's plenty to share ,which when you think about it is all the more depressing. This story is yet another but one which is being selectively ignored by the usual suspects you know the ones with their anti English chip on each drooping shoulder.

The main argument against universal suffrage at the time was that the hoi polloi were too ignorant, too uneducated, too irrational and too hormonal to be able to make a coherent considered decision on who runs the country.

A Welsh headmasters opinion on 14:35 - May 1 with 241 views | EagleEye | The downward trend in Welsh educational standards & results aligns pretty much with the Senedd taking control of education in Wales. The downward slope further increased when teachers (& teacher unions) complained about publication of league tables. The removal of league tables has resulted in the negative growth between Wales & the rest of the UK just about every year since.

I’m terribly sorry but am unable to open the link to read it, been out all day on one of our glorious coastal areas. Maybe you and the head moaner could open a separate section on this forum, a headline like ‘What can we find negative about Wales today?’ would be a suitable heading.

Welsh voters can dispatch the MS who works at the behest of the teaching unions. Reform chased away investors with their anti Euro rhetoric. Losing Ineos was a body blow and caused by Brexit. The vote must learn the hard way if they want to double down on this type of thinking. It is being worked out in the USA currently.

Farages main aim is to become Tory leader at some point in time, its been his ambition since he got involved in politics, I don't know who I'd vote but it certainly won't be Reform, Labour or the Tories, I'll probably abstain like I've done for as long as I can remember, don't trust any of the feckers. Self serving, self important and greedy for power and their own wealth, the lot of them, not in my name they won't. Couldn't give a monkeys chuff what anyone thinks either.

Vote for someone. You clearly have a passion for the environment so maybe green? The new system in Wales is set up so every vote counts. It's not a great system at all but your vote isn't wasted as it could be before. It's people not voting has led us to this mess and Reform have exploited it.

The new system discriminates against independents, it stinks to high heaven and back. The new system means you don't know who the fcuk your voting for.

That's not the case. The parties put forward a list of candidates in order of their preferences, you just don't know how far down that list you're going. And it is the parties preference, don't like it don't vote for them. Independent candidates will be represented if they get enough votes, if anything they have a better chance of being elected. I'm not defending the system but it does mean every vote counts and it's more democratic than first passed the post. It's likely to return a significant number of Reform MS's more, representation than anywhere else in the UK. Hopefully that gives the Senedd the huge kick up the ass it needs. Personally I don't think it will because their members will be useless.

I have a passion for our lakes and waterways being a fisherman and to support those who try and stop fly tipping, which is why I get on your case. You seem to spend time on here through the working day often enough, so what do you do to help the environment? I prefer to not vote than to just pick a random party to vote for, until I see a leader with the passion to change the political landscape in this country, they can all pizzoff. I had high hopes for Starmer when he became labour leader, but I sussed him out pretty much straight away after hearing is pathetic arguments with the Tories, never thought he'd be the waste of space that he is though.
