Emergency Patreon Podcast now live - all three sub tiers 10:01 - May 1 with 4927 views | Northernr | As the Marti Cifuentes era at QPR that once promised so much collapses into acrimony and a period tending to his azaleas, Clive, Jim Frayling and Dave Barton try to make sense of a chaotic week of behaviour from the club, where QPR's owners are in all of this mess, and whether you trust these people to master an incredibly difficult summer ahead. Also, Sunderland predictions. https://www.patreon.com/posts/cifuentes-exits-127877916

JF always good, but when he’s saying, I literally have no idea why the club is doing this, that says a lot. What is clear is that nothing is clear. There is / was loads going on behind the scenes that we don’t (yet) know about. As Clive finishes off by saying: Who knows where we will be this time next week.

Also thanks, as always, for the various articles this week, they are appreciated. I don’t tend to comment much(aside from the odd jocular intervention ) but I do value and appreciate the sort of calm, rational responses both you and Dave (and indeed a number of others) have added over the last week or so…I could not have put things into clearer perspective than you have.

Seconded. Thanks folks. Listened to half of it just now as I was driving. "Grown-up" was what I thought too.

Thirded. Clive's writing not only cheers me up, win or lose, but the fact that he cares so much about our hopeless club makes me feel better about being stuck with them. I find it doubtful that his erection can be seen from space, as he has claimed, but otherwise Clive deserves every plaudit going, even more so at times like this.

Emergency Patreon Podcast now live - all three sub tiers on 13:51 - May 1 with 2678 views | rbee | It's not all negative we have Taylor Richards to come back. This floored me, lol. But as you stop laughing you begin to wonder how on earth the club sanctioned such a deal. Then you think about Madsen. Other clubs looked at him and rejected him for being lightweight. You try to be pragmatic, consider our financial situation and think ok, we took a punt on him. But the thing is we didn't take a punt on Madsen we made him our Marquee Signing! Paid way over the top for him with a lengthy contract. Talk about eggs and baskets. To answer your question, do I have faith in those that negotiated the deals for Taylor Richards, Nicolas Madsen with a sprinkling of Hevertton Santos to recruit well in the summer? Er. No.

Agreed. There is a lot to be said for acting professionally and keeping things in house especially during the last week of the season.
Emergency Patreon Podcast now live - all three sub tiers on 15:20 - May 1 with 2383 views | London_Pride | Clive, Jim, Dave, thanks very much. It was really good to get your thoughts and your (gallows) humour. As a Rangers fan of 50 years, you learn to accept the farce as part and parcel of the club. One thing that puzzles me is - where is Lee Hoos in all this? He is the only member of the Board with any experience of running a football club, he is still chairman and yet he appears to have had no involvement in any of this shambles. When CN took over as CEO, Hoos was going to be there to provide support and experience. Where is he now? Is he still backing CN or just keeping his head down?

Emergency Patreon Podcast now live - all three sub tiers on 16:03 - May 1 with 2232 views | daveB | Thanks for having me on, I struggled to think of a positive other than the return of Taylor but whilst I am in a doom and gloom space I would say the squad is slightly similar to when Warbs first came in with us having a few decent prospects in the team who need some good players to help them flourish. We had the likes of Bright, Eze and Chair then and what they needed was players to create for who could score goals so the signings of Wells and Hugil that summer really elevated us helped those players improve and we had a decent season. If we can somehow find either on loan or maybe through Kelman or some other signing a couple of players who have good movement up front, can score goals, won't be bullied that would help the likes of Demebele and co to improve which then helps the team They can probably fudge the other positons with some average affordable players but really some forwards who can regularly score goals and push teams back would be massive. I have no faith at all they will get them but it's not impossible

Emergency Patreon Podcast now live - all three sub tiers on 16:29 - May 1 with 2148 views | thehat | Thanks Clive and gang - Enjoyed listening to that sitting in the garden with a G&T. I don't think it will happen but: Ruban should get Christian and Marti in a room and bang their heads together then work on a plan that see's Marti stay at the club (he is under contract) for another season. Then release a positive PR statement that reads all issues now resolved and we move forward together next season. Probably the best and easiest way out of this mess.
Emergency Patreon Podcast now live - all three sub tiers on 17:18 - May 1 with 2020 views | terryb | Thanks Clive. I'm halfway through listening & would like to ask for your view on a question that is nagging at me:- Do you think that Cifuentes would have been placed on "Garden Leave" this week IF we had performed against Burnley? Or would the 5-0 defeat have hastened the thought that this would be the best time to announce parting company? I said in the pub post match on Saturday that I thought he'd be gone before this weekend as they had been given the green light.

Well I think this has been coming since last summer, so I don't think one result against Burnley would have made much difference mate, no.

Sorry, I didn't mean if the Burnley result led to the change as I'm firmly in the camp that it was inevitable. Just to whether it affected the timing?

I think some of the more attractive Championship jobs - Norwich, West Brom - surprisingly coming up early had more to do with it all.

If Marti trounces Sunderland the Burnley was a blip and Marti gets back on a pedestal. Currently, CN gets to say Marti saved us from relegation, but cant get past mid-table.

If that's right, and it seems extraordinary, the fan base has been played by Nourry, Marti and the whole club to a symphonic level. He signed his contract extension in September, and has been telling us over and over how much he loves the club and enjoys the job. There is no point in writing about - let alone 'supporting' - people who just lie and spin and generate more smoke and mirrors than a burning Palace of Versailles. I actually think infantile absurdity and satire is the way to go with QPR these days, and pro football generally. Fan love is mad love. It certainly isn't good for my mental health or 'adulthood'! It's come out this week that if he kept us up he got a new contract, the timing of when they announced it was down to the club I don't think it's as black and white as you paint it. A Manager could well be unhappy with what is happening in certain areas whilst still getting on with his job and enjoying other aspects of it Ultimatley we've no idea why he's going as the club haven't actually told us the reasons for why he is on gardening leave

Quite! In my view, none of them are to be trusted or believed. As Adam Phillips put it, 'trust is a word we've put too much trust in', or as my Russian tattooist opined, 'trust no one - not even yourself!'
