Personally I'd send a message that we won't be mucked about and tell him, asnwer in 24 hours or the contract offer is withdrawn and we move on. I know he's only doing what he thinks best for himself but the club can't be held back, made to wait. These owners have plans, it seems, they are proactive and we need them to be able to carry on ahead.

Now that I totally agree with D.
Darling given an ultimatum plus what next ? on 17:26 - May 9 with 2297 views | ReslovenSwan1 | He is waiting to see what offers come in. This is out of Swansea's control. He is currently injured an any new club would want medical details. The time taken suggests the offers he has has so far are not good enough for him. This happened with Grimes and he came back and signed a new deal.

He is under contract until 30th June so can't sign for anyone else until after that date. He has had an offer he will accept after that date. If he was going to resign for us he would have. There is no more for us to offer.

They’ve done that already. He’s holding out because he knows if he comes back outside of their timescale they will accept him.

No, just NO. Tell himnmstaright, to go away, find a new club because we don't want him. I'm fed up of players holding clubs to ransom. He's replaceable, they're ALL replaceable. Grimes....Britton...no mater how good they are we can find replacements.
Darling given an ultimatum plus what next ? on 23:13 - May 9 with 1721 views | GVJack | Get active in the market and sign another CB and give him the radio silence. He's had long enough, if his agent is using our contract offer to use as bait for other clubs then take the decision of resigning away from him. If he wants to stay let him come begging before we sign 2 more CB's. He's injury prone now anyway.
Darling given an ultimatum plus what next ? on 23:55 - May 9 with 1653 views | max936 | Be a shame to lose him, he's improved since he's been here and has come on a hell of a lot, him and Ben read each other very well, he's got a mistake in him much like Ben, but he's still young for a centre back at 25 he'll only get better. There's a new group in town now with fresh ideas and it seems that they're ambitious in wanting to move the club forward, he loves it here his family loves it here as well by all accounts, so I hope he can see that these new people at the club are moving forward and he can be a part of that.

No, now's not the time to play hard ball. Since we've told him that our latest offer is the best we can do (this summer), leave it at that. Also remind him that as he saw at the tail end of the season that Swans are building up to a fabulous 2025-2026 season, and emphasize that it's highly likely that we'll be challenging for a play-off spot, with or without him. However, we'll be in a better position to challenge for a top two automatic spot if he's with us. Tell him if that happens, then we can discuss/review his part in the upcoming season, and re-negotiate his contract on a warranted basis. It may come down to how well the Swans management project optimism for the upcoming season. If he buys in to the optimism, their outlook, their story, then it's very likely he'll sign on.

Yes I agree also he has had a few injuries of late. Personally I would look elsewhere sounds like there are good options out there.

Give him until the agreed date to sign, then withdraw the offer and sign someone else. If the date has passed move on. Will other offers still stand when they know ours is off the table.

Valid points but what Max said above is important in this. He has a good understanding with Cabango which I don’t think came naturally. It’s been worked on over time and that’s something you can’t just replace like that, never mind how good that player may be.

Yes that's a fair point I must admit Iam a little concerned with the injury. I know it's an estimated 5 week recovery, but sometines when a player starts getting injuries they can become more frequent. [Post edited 10 May 9:43]

That’s something the medical team will have to look at carefully which undoubtedly they have. By the way, what was the cause of the recent injury? Did I hear it was slipping in the shower before the game?

He’s good and he fits well in the side but to say he’s the be and end all is a bit silly. I agree with the train of thought of get another one in and see if that changes/makes up his mind.

Obviously he can get a club now and announce he is joining on July 1st. His agent will be very active in that area, in fact they have been for months.

Darling given an ultimatum plus what next ? on 12:13 - May 10 with 1033 views | Dr_Winston | Cooler heads need to prevail here I think. Whilst we should certainly be keeping our options open when it comes to alternatives, retaining Harry Darling would be a hell of a lot easier than replacing him. Neither party should be rushing to burn any bridges yet.

Totally agree, we need him to stay as getting a like for like replacement could cost more and that player would take time bedding in. All behind the club though for not going over the top in what they are offering.

Absolutely. We'll have a budget for him and shouldn't exceed it. We're almost certainly going to need another CB in any case unless Lissah is ready to step up so there's nothing stopping us entering into negotiations for one or two.
