First half, you could see a team that were just not interested in trying to play football. Playing 1-5-5 not even trying to get the ball into Everton's final third, resulting in 0 shots on or off target, 0 attempts to move the ball into the box, 0 corners. 2nd half did improve a bit!! I know everyone slaughters Smallbone, but at least he tried, unlike some , Dibbling can't tackle just keeps the ball until he loses it.
Maybe if the team can get the ball forward to Stewart quicker next season, the is hope!!

Interesting viewpoint MF, and taking up your point, if we'd done enough to trawl in a modest 40 pts then the mighty Spurs would be in the bottom 3 on 38 pts with ManUre just one above the drop zone on 39pts with both clubs and their entitled supporters bricking it for the final showdowns next Sunday. We'd still be in the mix of course, but with Arsenal pretty much assured of 2nd spot it would have been interesting to see the level of commitment they would have put in next Sunday if it meant helping to relegate Spurs! Probably about as much effort as we put in today in the first half at Goodison Park... Hey ho, we can but speculate and dream of what could have been... [Post edited 18 May 19:55]

Fernandes has been one of our best players this season, but, if you're talking about the Everton game, he was one of the worst culprits.
As for Ross Stewart, he showed us just how bad his finishing is when he does get chances. That header was the easiest chance any player from either side had all day. You can see why, even though he's 29 this year, he's never scored a goal in the Premier League and only 10 in the Championship. Most of his career has been in the lower leagues in Scotland and here, which is his level, even when he's not injured. [Post edited 19 May 11:02]

With his previous scoring record the fact that our esteem recruitment team ( if indeed we actually have one ) thought it a riveting idea to pay £10 million for him nearly two years ago, even thought he was carrying a long term injury, says ail anybody needs to know about Sports Republic.
