You must be 'ruthless' when it comes to these academy players - sad but they cost a lot of money overall - there a thousands of young lads out there to bring in a 'trial' them.

He played 23 games for us, I remember thinking as someone chipped the ball over his head he's not gonna be good enough. I just checked his career after he left us, didn't do much except in Ireland for Cork. |  |

Those pro contracts count on the P&S though, so I don't think its a good idea to rack 'em and stack 'em
The Hamalainen, Kakay and Shodipo contracts were all done because the club/DoF/Owners were desperate to have some kind of success from the youth development at the time.
I think thats what killed it for Warbs, as he just didn't rate anyone coming through high enough.
If we were short of midget #10's I could see some validity in this, but I think there is more value with a player like Alfie Tuck who is a bit different (and younger?) |  | | |

I mean Hamalainen is a bit of a special case in that every manager immediately picked him because in training he looked like a world beater. He just ended up shaking like a leaf the second he had to actually play infront of a crowd. | | | |
