Odd that Fulton didn't shackle O'Brien or Franco though.
When your midfield is rubbish with two players in it, and then one of those goes and your midfield improves, it doesn't make much sense to claim that the one who stayed was the problem.
Grimes was holding us back no matter who he played alongside yet for some reason people blamed (and still do apparently) Fulton for that fact.
He was hardly going to shackle them from the bench was he? He started less than half the games since O’Brien arrived, despite us playing three in midfield most games, only having four recognised central midfielders and one of them winding his career down with cameos.
I’m not sure if you were being facetious with your second paragraph, but the reason the midfield improved was O’Brien was considerably better than either of them.
I like Fulton, he’s a good championship squad player and if he goes to Plymouth I’m sure he’ll be more than that, but to suggest he was being shackled by a far superior player is ludicrous.

It's a shame Cooper never really kicked on. I like his tenacity and willingness to run himself into the ground, but the lack of technical quality in his game is getting harder to ignore. I think he'd do quite well a division below, but is nothing more than a squad player for us, and that may be pushing it long term.
I'd get Sam Parker out on loan until Christmas at least. Needs a good run of 15-20 games under his belt. Cam Congreve had a good year with Bromley but he's 22 next birthday. Really needs to have a strong pre-season if he's not going to be loaned out again.
Ben Lloyd I'll admit I don't know much about.
Don't forget that we also have Glory Nzingo out on loan to Carolina Core and seems to be doing quite well. Their season goes on until October [I think]. I'm not sure when he is due back or if it is in this window.

Update.
His loan is until January. It seemed a strange loan by Coleman at the time and still makes no sense. Well not to me anyway as he was doing very well for the u21s.

whiterockin - no it is not MLS. It is almost all MLS 2nd teams. So it was Inter Miami II.
MLS Next Pro (MLSNP) is a men's professional soccer league in the United States and Canada that is affiliated with Major League Soccer (MLS). It launched in 2022 with 21 teams and now comprises 27 reserve sides of MLS clubs and 2 independent clubs.
Carolina Core is currently one of the 2 independant teams but its right next to the Charlotte North Carolina MLS team so ...
Average home attendance is over 4,000

Thanks for the in depth reply. I belive possible wrongly that the standard is below that of League One and even League Two in this country and the reason the loan did not make sense to me.

League 1 standard at worst, and, more importantly without the hoofball
[Post edited 3 Jun 16:39]
Thanks for the reply but I tend to disagree. MLS I see as comparable to upper Championship level and their 2nd tier league as League One at best with some teams comparable to League Two. But it's not surprising for people to champion their own leagues.

whiterocking, championing their own leagues. Born in Derwydd just north of Ammanford, moved here when I was 38 in 1997.
I little interest, correction, no interest in the USA leagues.
Agree. MLS comparable to upper championship and agree 2nd sides are league 1. Only difference is there is no hoofball in the 2nd sides so Glory is getting experience instead of playing with some hoofball stuff

We know he keeps top secret information on the Swans transfers.
My spy satellite has his precise location.
Sunning himself next to a pool, sipping champagne with bikini clad babes wandering around, aboard a 75m pound mega boat in the Mediterranean sea near Greece.
En route now to extract the information
Q has provided the necessary tools to get the job done
He wont be keeping secrets for much longer

Inform M that I have identified the ring leader.
I believe he is hiding out in Spain.

People resent him because of the wage he is on. Not his fault the club threw silly money at him same with Fisher.
I don't think he let us down as a sub under Sheehan the complete opposite in fact.
I would like to shift him because I don't think he offers value for money but if he stays that's ok as well.
I'm with you here. I like Fulton as a squad player and I'm grateful for his service. Not his fault he is on higher wages, which is my only reason for thinking it's better to move him on. If we can get him off the wage bill that would free up wages for 2 cheaper waged players

Grimes was holding us back no matter who he played alongside yet for some reason people blamed (and still do apparently) Fulton for that fact.
Various combinations in the midfield had been used with Grimes at the centre of them with varying degrees of success but also we have seensone dire performances, it was time for a change. Fulton had been used, discarded at time but has returned with some success at times as managers needed to employ different tactics to deal with the different times, to see us bullied by the "lesser teams" in the league had become a regular occurrence, with Fulton without Grimes in the team that occurrence became less frequent, that is not just about having Fulton in the team it was about having the right players and tactics to adapt to different situations, Fulton is a valuable asset if used properly.
