Good luck to them. if we followed the same model, with a donation of £400,000, how much could we expect from the local council and Hornets, thats if they are in any financial position to contribute. its also interesting to know that the EFL have approved their pitch (should they get promoted); seems as if they are already planning for a push to that end for next season.  | | | |

I think they had to get EFL approval before they took part in this year’s playoffs otherwise it could have been a similar scene to Gateshead in 2024.
Some of their fans that I talk to think that this year was their best chance of promotion given that the team is breaking up again. | | | |

FCHT have already lost Ryan Galvin to Barnet and now Adam Senior is on his way. Both decent players to loose and then replace.

Probably, but can’t ever see him fitting in here in the future. The evidence suggests his ability to produce entertaining football wouldn’t please some. His ability to get results to consistently be challenging for a playoff place cannot be argued with.

One of the few clubs with perhaps even less clout than Dale.
Gates down to 1500, only three non football staff, no online ticket facility, retail run by the supporters club apparently, future ownership of the ground unclear.
They’ve probably been overachieving on the pitch to be honest given the budget.

This sounds like a similar approach taken at Boundary Park last season - although the council paid the lions share of that cost. Hope it works for Halifax - remember we spent a similar amount on a similar type of pitch and our issue was the drainage yet again. We can't afford that type of investment every 3 years so we need a better long term fix with the drainage.
The owner of Huddersfield Giants has offered to buy the Shay from the council so that they can play there too for 6 years whilst they redevelop their own facilities. He will also invest in other facilites around the ground such as screens etc. The council had accepted the offer but it is now on hold for some reason [Post edited 28 May 9:13]

It’s on hold because it’s a listed stadium and the council were honour bound to listen to other bids by the end of September.
Halifax Town fans have cobbled together alternative proposals for a community stadium run by a supporters trust which will be considered one autumn. | | | |
