He had a good attitude and was available when needed. Played through (another) transition period for the club and kept his chin up even when the club wanted to let him go.
Sadly, I thought he struggled on the pitch. It's a difficult position to play and there were many times at Loftus Road I found it hard to watch him being targeted by the opposition. Also, from memory, his corners were awful!
Anyway, I won't hold any of that against him and wish him all the best.
Paal always looks like he's just woken up, but I liked him and wish him all the best for his future career, hopefully at a club that doesn't perform a haka to "motivate" the players.
I didn't particularly like or dislike Paal, thought he had some very poor games this season, but the fact I think it is a very fair point to highlight his excellent appearance record....
...shows how far we have sunk as a club.
We're looking for players that are willing to turn up on a regular basis. I mean, how Sunday League is that?! Sounds more like club cricket. Can't bowl, can't bat, can't field, but he's always here.
The best player in the world isn't much use if he can only manage half a dozen games a season.
So yeah, good availability is a very desirable trait.
Yeah, as many assists as the "highly-rated" and "creative" Saito. Same number of assists and solitary goal as Smyth. But Paal's crap.
For an underperforming player who had apparently "checked out" all season, I'm certain that his contributions compare favourably with the majority of left-backs in this league: Firpo and a few others excepted.
I really liked Traore, just had him at the wrong time in his career and the wrong part of QPRs time as well
always thought traore would have been a decent winger myself , good cross on his quick just not great as a defender a trait we seem to have kept going with some so called full backs over the years

Do remember the game up at Ewood where he came on at 3-0 down and played centre midfield? He bossed it and was very instrumental in getting us back to 2-3. Much better attacking than defending.
I feel Paal could have done a job ... better the devil you know... but more worrying is trying to understand who is deciding which players to keep on. In the end who is going to coach them day by day, decide their playing style and select the match day squad? Surely they must have a big say, even though in the modern game it's recruitment team who make the final choice. But who is this recruitment team? The CEO, the chairman and the head of recruitment? I think you need the input of someone more competent in footballing matters.. your head Coach ...but who is it going to be?

It's weird. I generally liked Paal but when he was shit he really was shit, like Millwall away or Burnley at home.
Don't understand why we didn't get rid of him last summer though - he didn't seem the same player last season and now seems to be going where he was headed then.

What I will say is that we’re not sure that is was completely the clubs decision .
He was openly telling people that “I’m refusing to sign a new contract as I want to go play in the sun and get some vitamin D”
Now that is more than likely tongue in cheek and I have no idea in what context it was said . Most likely said with a big smile . But it hints that he was offered a new contract but it could easily be a turn of phrase too.
My point being that anybody reading my posts on here recently knows my opinion on the club and it’s day to day runnings , but we don’t know for sure it was a club decision for him to leave that’s all.
