This is part of the problem.
Russy has found himself in a situation where finishing second is the bare minimum expected. Managing that will no doubt convince all the eejits who have spent the last three years pretending that he's some sort of footballing messiah that they're right.
Those of us who can see right through his nonsense will know otherwise. He's a rubbish coach. Success at Rangers will be just as meaningless as promotion from the Championship with a PL level squad and budget was at Southampton.
How a manager exceeds the resources available to him matters. At no point in his career has Martin done anything other than underperform. Rangers fans will want his head if he does the same at Ibrox.

Winning the play offs is not winning a title or a cup, it's being the better team of the also rans.
