I am expecting to drop more by the next physical as I've knocked a lot of the drink on the head, rarely consuming unless I'm dahhn the boozer, which is usually once / twice a week.

Overweight.... on 22:12 - Jun 4 with 2748 views | numptydumpty | Neither of you hardly overweight at all I am pretty fit in general, average over 10k steps a day, go swimming twice a week but close to obese. 15 stone and 5 foot 9. I have developed a sweet tooth and my diet in general is rwaonable apart from snacking. As a 20 and 30something was very fit. Played five a side and ran half marathons and did the full London Marathon aged 28. 57 now and a medication I am puts on weight but I am never lethargic and generally focused. But couple of physical health conditions now also so although on occasions my weight worries me, I am unable to lose weight despite trying. Ihave lost count the number of rollockings I give myself for this but all that does is make me feel cr*p and all my weight is in the belly. My legs and arms all pretty toned. I am not going to attract the girls out on a Friday night anymore... Such is life. I feel well though.

Overweight.... on 22:26 - Jun 4 with 2688 views | BucksRanger | Buy smaller plates and do not overfill them. Reduce carbohydrate (potato, rice and pasta) intake. Eat grilled meats or fish and salad regularly. Have a small portion of various fruits for dessert. Drink spirits not beer / lager. Walk don't drive short / medium distances. Enjoy lots of sex. Easy peasy.

Overweight.... on 22:32 - Jun 4 with 2658 views | bosh67 | I would stop the binge drinking. That will be a big one and just get into walking and gardening and a bit of recreational exercise a few times a week for a few hours. As for me I am 5 foot 8 and 11 stone 2. Roughly right for my diminishing height. I put it down to doing a lot of physical gardening work and worrying myself sick about everything. Anxiety and stress sees the lbs fall off me and probably remaining years of my life. I think my BMI is pretty good in that I weigh less than a BMI plane? You can test (or depress yourselves here) - It actually leads you to some very helpful weight loss advice. https://www.nhs.uk/health-assessment-tools/calculate-your-body-mass-index/calcul [Post edited 4 Jun 22:38]

Overweight.... on 22:34 - Jun 4 with 2650 views | qprxtc | My weight is forever up and down. More up than is healthy. Running and diet are the only ways over ever lost weight. But then I reward myself for doing so and ten seconds later I’ve put it all back on plus some. I now have liver nonsense through too much alcohol nonsense. But intend to change that, getting older doesn’t help.

So if you had lunch at 12, you'd need to eat dinner by 8. In the 16 hours after you fast. Takes a few days to get used to it and then you're golden. Tip 2: of you're hungry, drink some water.

Overweight.... on 23:54 - Jun 4 with 2456 views | stowmarketrange | My doctor told me that I’m the ideal weight for someone my age,but I just need to grow another 6 inches and my BMI might tell me the same. I started going to slimming world in January 2023 and I lost 2 1/2 stone by June just by eating what they recommended, and it wasn’t bad food either. Unfortunately I stopped going and 2 stone has come back on somehow.

Are you saying there is no breakfast and your first meal is at noon and breakfast/ lunch combo Bluce-Ree then a big meal at 8pm to keep you going until noon the next day . That is very interesting and goes against the time honoured statement that breakfast is the most important meal of the day
Overweight.... on 00:43 - Jun 5 with 2392 views | larsricchi | I try to eat 128g of protein a day whilst only intaking 1,800 calories (and I usually come in around 1,600). Ride an e-bike (and try to limit the assist to the big hills and the headwinds). Take my profile picture for walks when I can. Try to get the heart rate up for a sustained amount of time. I’m almost down to what I weighed at 18 y.o. Goal is to lose just a bit more. (I played American football at 18 so I had some heft on my frame.)
Overweight.... on 01:09 - Jun 5 with 2345 views | SydneyRs | Running for me. Love it (while also hating it sometimes!) and it helps offset some of the poor eating/drinking I do on weekends. Also the mental benefits cannot be underestimated. I was never an athlete/good at sport at school so the fact I could develop the ability to run good distances at a respectable pace came as a surprise to me and indicated probably anyone can do it assuming no injuries etc. During the week I avoid alcohol and try to eat well. My wife is pretty good in this area so that helps. Weight management has been an issue at times, more so when I was younger and going out drinking much more, but currently not too bad.
Overweight.... on 05:45 - Jun 5 with 2183 views | PlanetHonneywood | Exercise is important, but at best, it contributes 10-15% of a healthy weight. The rest is diet. I'm managing leg problems currently, so my exercise regime is reduced. Currently aim for 8k steps per day, but hiking put on hold for a year; I get to the gym at least twice a week, more if the legs allow, and do weights without trying to look like Arnie and stretching, albeit I've had to stop doing yoga because of a knee. My weight is pretty much around the weight I'd get to before running a marathon when I was training a lot. My last medical, all the markers were excellent. Diet is the key. I'm not a vegan, but I'm 95% whole food plant based, and while I think the folks at Zoe are annoying, I easily surpass their advice to consume 30 different plant items a week. In fact, I average around 70 per week. Gut biodiversity is for my money, justifiably hyped. My advice: 'eat the rainbow'. Ultimately, a lot of good health/weight is linked to how much you cook and eat whole foods at home, as opposed to a diet overly based on: animal products; processed foods; and eating out/relying on delivery apps which are all heavily laden with salt, sugar, saturated fats and frequently offer zero neutritional value. I also drink a lot of water, take a B12 supplement and booze consumption reduced these days. I never smoked. Frankly, the medical profession/governments are years behind the curve on advice, preferring to prescribe drugs as opposed to tackling the problem generated by poor lifestyle choices. It's up to people to take control and while it can be confusing, there's still many sources of good advice out there. I follow a chap called Michael Greger (nutritionfacts.org). He's a bit quirky and sciencey, but his videos are never longer than 10 minutes and give it to you straight.

Overweight.... on 05:59 - Jun 5 with 2167 views | HoopinEssex | Don't think you're that overweight to be honest I've lost 2 stone in 3 months. I've learned while exercise is important what you put in your body is more important. Imo diets don't work as most can't sustain them. It's just eating better and making it a way of life. 1) Eat chocolate and crisps very rarely. If I do now I buy the 90% chocolate and the lentil crisps which are lower calories. 2). Don't drink coke anymore which I did everyday. Don't even miss it 3) I eat more salad, veg, lean meats like chicken and turkey.. Hardly eat anything good before. Was alot of processed stuff. 4). Cooking from scratch where possible is much better. 5) Try books in the Mediterranean diet. It more a lifestyle choice than a diet. 6) I try to walk 10k steps a day. My job is quite active so might not be easy for others. 7). Eat more fish. salmon and cod without the skin is excellent for you. Also tuna 8). Drink 2 litres of water a day. Also buy wholemeal where possible. Pasta , bread etc. Much better for you and less calories I also still drink on weekends. I drink Guinness and red wine most Fridays and Saturdays and been still able to lose mainly because I'm eating better. Theres an app called Nutracheck which is brilliant. Shows you how calories work and how much is in certain foods. Now I understand calories I hardly order a takeaway anymore.Really opens your eyes as to how much rubbish we put in our bodies. Anyway might not be for everyone but Imo eating better and not denying yourself stuff you like now and again works better than restricted diets which mostly cause you to fail. Good luck [Post edited 5 Jun 6:01]

Having a dog is a huge help especially a collie, which needs lots of exercise. So a big step count. Back in the day it was usually a big builders breakfast but that was knocked on the head years ago but still treat myself every now again .
Overweight.... on 07:19 - Jun 5 with 1997 views | Metallica_Hoop | Funnily enough I was reading yesterday Jasmin green tea (the only one vaguely palatable) can help your metabolism speed up and thus burn fat. I was 16 stone last time I weighed (16 1/2 was the heaviest) but luckily it distributes all over. I want to get back to about 14 1/2 though, which according to the BMI last time I looked is still overweight for 6ft 2". I'll let you know how I get on.

Overweight.... on 07:28 - Jun 5 with 1973 views | Hoopstar | I've always just gone by the have a waist measurement that is less than half your height - as 5 foot 9 bloke i.e 9 inches tall I wear 32 inch jeans which is all enough for me. I also judge it on how I feel in my body and what it can do. BMI always seems a very limited metric in my view as it doesn't differentiate between fat and muscle mass. I'm about 13 1/2 stone which is a chunk into the overweight category but I have had my fitness levels at being able to comfortably run a half marathon at a decent pace for years now - live in a hilly part of the world so half my muscle is all on my legs which must weight a fair whack by themselves!

Actually, scratch everything above, this is the only thing that's 100% correct. Says moi after an hour and 45 in the gym and I've revived myself with a coffee (black no sugar) and err, umm, a croissant! So, I'm probably calorie buoyant as of 09.24.
