Are Plaid going to win the Senedd vote next year ? on 17:35 - Sep 25 by Whiterockin | A small price to pay if its efficient and benefits Wales. It's not and doesn't. The next lot have one term to turn it around or there should be a referendum on whether it should stay. At the end of the next Senedd it will be over 30 years since the devolution referendum, long enough to produce the results or go. |
************ Are Plaid going to win the Senedd vote next year ? on 17:24 - Sep 25 by felixstowe_jack Huge increase in the cost of running the senedd next year. Their proposed budget will be over £100m. That works out ar £1 million per Senned member with three extra 36 Senedd members cost £1 million each. Which equates to £10 for every person in Wales. ***************** Wr's response A small price to pay if its efficient and benefits Wales. It's not and doesn't. The next lot have one term to turn it around or there should be a referendum on whether it should stay. At the end of the next Senedd it will be over 30 years since the devolution referendum, long enough to produce the results or go. *************************** Allow me to rephrase that last para. A small price to pay if it's (Westminster) efficient and benefits the UK. It's not and doesn't. The next lot have one term to turn it around or there should be a referendum on whether it should stay. At the end of the next Parliament it will be over 300 years since the Houses of Parliament were set up, long enough to produce the results or go. ****************** The argument that felix appears to be making is that running the Senedd is too expensive at approx £1 million per Senedd member per year. Running the House Of Commons costs roughly the same per MP. Then add the cost of running the House Of Lords and we're approaching £1 billion. And on top of that, if you add the cost of simply keeping Westminster from falling or burning down (£2 million a day at last count or £750 million a year) then the cost of keeping that whole shooting match going is about twice the cost of the Senedd. Is Welsh democracy not worth as much as UK democracy ?

Are Plaid going to win the Senedd vote next year ? on 09:23 - Sep 26 by johnlangy | Destroyed on Newsnight last night ? For those who don't watch it Rhun Ap Iorwerth was on the programme. He was incredibly lucid in his answers to questions. I'd suggest that anyone who is interested in what he was like should catch up with it on iplayer and not simply accept what Luther says at face value.. |
Come on John Victoria roasted him over Wales will be £1Billion worse off according to the IFS it was cringe worthy the way he tried to get out of it Victoria was laughing at him

If you think Wales is a democracy then that could be debatable.

The reference to the IFS was just part of the discussion with Victoria Derbyshire. They did indeed refer to a billion less funding. But he didn't say he knows more than the IFS which someone else in the thread said. The initial way he questioned her statement about the IFS's findings did indeed make Vicky laugh but he went on to talk about Plaid's needs based funding argument and questioned whether the IFS study included the 'need' for the £4 billion from HS2 funding. Or Plaid's argument that the income from the Crown Estates should be devolved to Wales. There was no more time to discuss any other 'needs' as Newsnight had only allocated four minutes. He wasn't phased at all and certainly was not destroyed.

| Swansea Indepenent Poster Of The Year 2021. Dr P / Mart66 / Roathie / Parlay / E20/ Duffle was 2nd, but he is deluded and thinks in his little twisted brain that he won. Poor sod. We let him win this year, as he has cried for a whole year. His 14 usernames, bless his cotton socks.

The obvious answer is that we all deserve better and we nee a major change. Of course Welsh democracy is worth as much but the whole UK should be better run and the devolved govts just make things worse, in my opinion. I think we'd be better off with a sort of federal system, Wales, Scotland and NI can be regions with Wngland split into 5 regions, Devon and Cornwall, South East, the midlands, the North and Anglia (Norfolk and Suffolk) Then I'd make Westminster a museum and build a new Parliament for the UK in a semi autonomous spot in the Midlands, bang in the centre, not a capital city, merely the centre of governance. There's a lot here that needs expanding obviously but it's too much for me to try to post right now. All I will say is that having capital cities just seems to cause issues with governments hell bent on giving them a lions share of funding on the basis of trickle down and a succesful capital means a succesful country and we know that is a failed notion. Still the fools in cardiff work along this line whilst the rest of Wales stagnates. I think Plaid will win and I hope with a majority so labour won't have ANY say. If labour won the most votes last time and their supporters are moving to Plaid then Plaid could get a majority. lasttime Plaid go 225k votes and Labour 443k, The tories got 289k. Reform have a smaller base to gain votes from, if most Labour defectors go to Plaid a majority is very possible and bye bye Labour.

Are Plaid going to win the Senedd vote next year ? on 18:59 - Jun 9 by shingle | These Plaid Cymru lot are barking mad go and take a look at Llinos Medi on BBC question time, dear god there is no hope for us, it`s pretty much proven now that Wales will continue to go downhill with either Labour or Plaid at the helm so i would like to see Reform have a crack, and if they turn out to be a waste of time then we are in the same boat anyway in having three inept and useless political party`s to worry about |
Trust me we DO NOT want a reform government either in Wales or uk, just look at u s a because thats where nigel will get his instructions from, and some and maybe a lot will not agree but for me ANYTHING would be better than reform

Anything is better , well we've had anything so no thanks I care for my family , and their future, along with my country .I find it strange that people are prepared to have more of the same because of they're dislike of one person .Heads of political party's come and go but if the policies are right then I'm happy to put a x in the box.

Are Plaid going to win the Senedd vote next year ? on 15:37 - Sep 27 with 1021 views | AnotherJohn | Plaid would just be more of the same, just as woke and detached from fiscal realities. I do not see Reform as a long-term solution, at least not in their present from, but I shall vote for them in order to encourage the others. We cannot keep going as we are and nothing will concentrate minds in Cardiff Bay and Westminster like the shock of Reform as the largest party in the Senedd.
