There are a number of indications this is not a problem with the aircraft which has an excellent safety record. You are referring to the 737 Max which had to be grounded worldwide. Reports I’ve read suggest the aircraft took off at only half the runway length which given its weight may not have been enough. Clearly it got off the ground but stalled very shortly afterwards indicating lack of / insufficient power to get it to altitude. It maybe a double engine failure but this seems unlikely unless it was a bird strike but no signs if that from the videos, Fuel issues another possibility. Flaps look to have been deployed I think but if there is sufficient power they could get off the ground without full flaps I believe. Most accidents are a result of a perfect storm though and it may be a mix of any of those above,

No I'm not referring to the 737 per se, this plane is one of their newer breeds and there has been the odd issue with it, would they ground it till they are sure it was nothing to do with the plane ?, people are saying Boeing is too big to fail, I don't think they will ground this newish model as its its first fatal accident but I think they should until they can rule out that it was nothing to do with the plane.

The cost involved will be a factor. Yes, I know lives should mean more but the financial impact of grounding a fleet of aircraft for what might be an isolated fault at worse (more likely to be pilot error or an unavoidable issue) is unlikely. Just my thoughts.

The 787 has an excellent safety record, but as you point out the 737 Max has had a number of issues and was involved in 2 dreadful crashes before it was grounded. Boeing has, over the last few years been under scrutiny regarding its safety record and there have been concerns about work8ng practice at its plant where the Dreamliner is assembled. https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2025/06/12/whistleblower-raised-safety-fears-bo

Does 787 have an excellent safety record ?, I don't know enough about it to comment but what I've read in the past I don't think it does have an excellent safety record, deaths is only one measurement.

"I don't know enough about it to comment" You've never let that stop you before.

Passenger plane heading for London crashes after take-off in Ahmedabad, India on 08:59 - Jun 13 with 554 views | trampie | 787s not grounded (yet), does that mean that investigators think there is no reason to ground the plane ?, you would think they would ground planes immediately until their initial investigation which might be a very short space of time in some circumstances (although i know full investigationscan take a long time), I would not be comfortable being booked onto a 787 flight until I knew what was what.

Looks as if they are looking at pilot error, which would be convenient for Boeing

Complete nonsense. There is absolutely no way anyone could have survived that crash. The impact alone was catastrophic—and even if, by some miracle, someone had lived through that, the ensuing explosion would have sealed their fate. Anyone who’s seen the footage knows exactly what I mean—there’s just no chance. No survivors.
