I agree keep Tall Paul, how much would it cost to replace him. Alright he might not be up to Premier lge but I'm sure he's the perfect fit for Championship, but as you say get a couple of wide men that can get to the line & put in some decent crosses. I'd bet on Tall Paul scoring 18 + goals in Championship. My worry is we sell him & don't replace him, there's no way that Ross Stewart will stay fit for a full season.

He's gone. Terms have been agreed & it's confirmed he's going. Who do we replace him with, not another midget I hope.

As the new manager, has Will Still been allowed to have an opinion on this 'sale'? Looks like the answer to that is 'no'.

On this occasion, I am not bothered if he had an opinion on Tall Paul sale or not. It was the right thing to do to let him go and get some money back. Tried hard etc, but not good enough. [Post edited 27 Jun 9:48]

We could get a proven goalscorer like Ayoub El Kaabi for less than £10 mill, but I expect it will be a youngster with 'potential resale value'.

Don't forget some of these superstar players we have on our books, think they are above playing in the Championship and have clauses in their contracts so that they can loan or transfer out, should we get relegated. As Tall Paul didn't play for us in the Champ last time around, I guess he has such a clause in his contract. Assuming he departure is imminent, our current striking options are Armstrong Archer BBD Stewart Sulemana - if he doesn't go to Italy Fernandes Dibling Ballard I'm sure that list will change over the next couple of months, but it's not too bad for the Championship as it stands.

At the end of last season Tall Paul was by far our best striker, he did at least pose a threat & the opposition had to think about him. None of the others mentioned posed any threat or even looked like scoring.(exception being Stewart because we never saw enough of him to judge). So the reality is we have just sold our most dangerous striker. No he wasnt great but he was the best we had & I don't think he deserved all the criticism that's been thrown at him. Exactly every word you said - but also we've sold the only one who is actually a centre forward and poses a physical threat (again Stewart may be the exception, depending on how fast he can wheel his wheelchair into the penalty box). The others are all naturally wide players or second strikers, not true centre forwards. Apart from a very few like TP, our squad has been built to play tippy tappy. It's possible that we could get another play-off place playing that way, but that is not Will Still's game. Without a proper centre forward plus a back up, we could struggle.

As I said in my previous post, the fact that he didn't play for us last time we were in the Champ, suggests he has a clause in his contract, so we either have to loan him out or sell. Probably best to get some money for him now, rather than run his contract down with loans, like we have done in the past with so many other players and get no transfer fee, yet still have to pay them a loyalty bonus for seeing out their contracts.

We don't know for sure, but I really doubt that he refused to play in the Championship. Far more likely that Rusty decided he wasn't the tippy tappy type and shipped him out - which is fair enough, he's not really built for Rusty's style. The Championship is a better league than Turkey so I can't see anyone refusing to play in it so that they can play in Turkey. I think SR are jumping at the chance to get some money in quickly without thinking through the best long term solution. Now we will have to pay up for a new centre forward - maybe in January when Will Still has finally persuaded them we need one. That will mean we have to pay inflated January prices like we did with TP when we signed him. Edit: there are different numbers out there but it looks like wages in the Championship v Turkey are comparable. Turkey may be a bit higher on average but we have parachute payments etc. The other thing with Turkey is that wages are paid in Lira, so for example the previous year (75% inflation) salaries devalued by about half over the course of the year. Currently inflation is about 35%. In those circumstances, TP would take a contract extension that we could offer him based on Championship wages. A good deal for all. [Post edited 27 Jun 14:14]

IF this report is to be believed: Norwich want Armstrong to replace Sargent, who they're selling to Leeds, who want Sargent to replace Piroe, which leaves Piroe to replace Onuachu.
