New Spoons…. 17:29 - Jul 5 with 2256 views | colinallcars | Opening in Fulham next week which may be good news for us Hammersmithonians, as it might take some of the Cheslea fans away from the William Morris on matchdays. Mind you, some of them might decamp to the Hawthorn which wouldn't go down well with the owners !

It shouldn't be an exit, but a vomitory. We've got one in the IoM now. I've nothing against 'spoons, but a decent locally brewed pint in my local, award winning pub is £3.40, so I won't be changing my habits.

New Spoons…. on 10:07 - Jul 6 with 1287 views | DannyPaddox | To be fair, ah shit I’ve turned into one of those cu.nts that can’t start a sentence without saying “to be fair” But to be fair this new Spoons is situated in Fulham Broadway which as we all know, for obvious reasons, is a shithole and until recently there was a Spoons there for years. The Spoons with ideas above its station is the one by Putney Bridge, La Lune et le Pantalon Rouge. Someone told me Wandsworth Council let them build it as long as they kept the Wetherspoons branding (from the outside) to a minimum. Nice view of the river and I’ll visit now and then but the Bricklayers is the pub in that area. A great choice of beers and one of the best drops of Guinness in town.

Excellent news - as an infrequent visitor I had thought the Bricklayers was a goner.
New Spoons…. on 19:46 - Jul 6 with 916 views | colinallcars | I often drank in the Bricklayers at lunchtime when I retired. They stopped opening lunchtimes so I lost touch. Cracking pub loads of great ales. Others of note in Putney, the Half Moon with great music, the Spoons near the station now gorn. The scran used to be good in Dukes Head and two more Youngs pubs - one at the start of the road up to Wandsworth and one in the High St, was it the White Horse ? Ps…there was a cracking Youngs pub on Putney Heath, where it's said they hung highwaymen in the yard. It had a gorgeous rough tiled floor dating back about 600 years. I went in one day after not visiting for a long tine and the floor had been replaced by a bland ordinary floor, Health & Safety apparently. [Post edited 6 Jul 19:55]

Worse I feel, is starting the sentence with “yaknow what” and ending in “nahwotarmean” This is the country of Spenser, Shakespeare and WS Gilbert. Sorry to sound snobby, but just back from the William Morris and surrounded by those expressions.
New Spoons…. on 15:11 - Jul 7 with 654 views | TheChef | Hadn't been in a Spoons for ages but we made it into one on Saturday night in Birmingham's Chinatown - pub called The Dragon Inn (chuckles). Passed the time watching the Lionesses labour to defeat - very much enjoyed the Aperol Spritzes at a fiver a pop, really can't knock that!
