Would you have an agenda against the Gallaghers if they were from Liverpool?
I dont have an agenda against the Gallaghers, I didn't produce this video, I bought the first 3 Oasis albums I went to see them play, but it soon became clear that they were not the nicest people in the World and not even that original.
Fair play to them they kick started guitar bands again after 4-5 years of dance based music and they might well do it again in 2025.
Fair pay to them for giving the fans what they want, their set is based heavily on their first 3 albums and apparently only 1 song released this century,
Also fair play to them for openly boasting that they are ripping their fans off and not pretending they actually give a flying f*ck about them and that this is about the music.
They are milking it all for what it's worth, got their Manchester gigs this weekend they have set up merchandising stalls not just in the venue, but also in Manchester City centre, T Shirt are £40 a pop ( 9 different designs) reversible bucket hats £35 and key rings are a tenner.
For your information here is the full merchandising list and prices, as a Financial Advisor, our biggest business at the moment is remortgages for people attending these gigs.

I went to see Pulp at the O2 a few weeks ago.
They have a new album out and fair play to them for that.
A lot of their set at the O2 contained songs from the new album. Again, artistically admirable.
However, the reality is that the crowd reaction to those songs wasn't as great, as the songs simply aren't as good as the stuff they did in the 90's (particularly the His'n'Hers album, of which I would have liked to have heard a lot more).
Virtually every band will have their most memorable stuff in their first 2 or 3 albums, as that is the stuff the songwriter would have been doing before the band ever became known. Typically the best stuff before narcotics / insanity / paranoia / pressure (take your pick) take hold.
As for the money-making side, well there is clearly a market for it, and both brothers have had personal situations which will have taken a lot of their cash. No sympathy for that, we all make our bed etc....
I have rarely seen such excitement about the return of a band.
Are you suggesting that people are re-mortgaging just so that they can afford to go and see Oasis?
I went to see "Noasis" down the Brook few months back.
15 quid ticket, placed was packed full of younguns and oldies. Everyone sang along like the best football crowd you could be in...cracking night and I'm not a big Oasis fan , I just got persuaded by a mate to come along.
I'm always shocked at the price people are prepared to pay to line the pockets of these faded old rockers. ..suckers or fanatics.

I was expecting their return to be an anti-climax TBH, but they had fantastic reviews for the Cardiff gigs.
I have a ticket for Edinburgh, which given it is 4 weeks away, there is every chance of it not happening, I suspect….
I went to see oasis at the old Wembley stadium on July 21st 2000, a month before Wembley was demolished and the night they recorded familiar to millions. Legendary day out around London beforehand to the point that we were in a Wembley pub, heard music and realised we were completely missing the happy Mondays. Oh well. Thing is I don't think I paid more than 30 or 40 quid for a ticket.

I went to that one as someone got us tickets for a wedding present. It was quite the day in London but the approach up Wembley Way was pretty nasty, with every step taken being on broken glass and football firms from all over threatening each other. Happy Mondays were a bit rubbish but Oasis were great. Saw them a few times and I was at their last gig at Wembley in 2009 as I couldn't sell my tickets. Kasabian blew them off stage that night and it was obvious Oasis couldn't be arsed
Pat, you'll be fine for Edinburgh. They will play all their booked gigs as it will cost them too much not to. The Scottish gigs will be great. Both Oasis and The Roses always had huge Scottish followings. I wish I had got a ticket now, and suppose I still could if I pay a lot
Regarding the merch prices, it is the way it works now. Bands dont make money through records so the merch and ticket proces are ramped up. My mate took his daughter to see Olivia Rodrigo the other week and a hoodie there was £140 apparently

The review of Cardiff was very positive, I have spoken to people I know have gone, they all reckon it was fantastic, I have no doubt it was, if i had gone I would have enjoyed, it, they played most of their first two albums that were brilliant (if not original lol) and a bit of their 3rd which was ok , they gave the fans what they wanted and you can't complain about that.
My issue with them is how they are milking the fans, the ticket prices were appalling and got worse with the way they went up as interest increased, the merchandise is drastically overpriced, given that it actually costs about £5 to manufacture a t shirt these days.
The only good thing is that there will be a roaring trade in unofficial t shirts in the streets outside which will be highly ironic that Oasis themselves will be ripped off

What would you suggest if you were Noel Gallagher’s financial advisor?
I think the ticket prices were probably about right (well, what somehow seems to be accepted as right nowadays), but the dynamic pricing was wrong. They could and should have stopped this.

I remember seeing the Stranglers in about 1979 and they would only play their latest album not their hits. I suspect that strategy may have changed somewhat..!
As for Oasis, I think they’re vastly overrated but if their fans are enjoying this reunion then fine.

The good news is that if they make enough money this time, they won't have to tour again.
I went to see oasis in London at one of the parks, can’t remember which one, all I recall is doing a very strong pill, losing my mates and a very attractive young lady taking the piss out of my average sized penis when I was have a wee in a bush. What a day.

I don't remember seeing any football related trouble, I just remember it was sunny and a great day out. Although to be fair I couldn't see much of anything at that point.
I saw a lot more trouble at the Ageas bowl or whatever it's called. There was a lot of saints pompey stuff going on. That was a crap gig. Massive queues for everything and a sound system that was swaying in the wind and you could barely hear it. Oh and it had to finish by 10 or something due to noise restrictions.

Guns’n’Roses at Wembley Stadium two weeks ago was very similar.
But without the Saints and Pompey stuff.
Sound acoustics were abysmal.
If they don’t get that sorted for the Oasis gigs, there will be riots.
I’m going to see them at Wembley in September, looking forward to seeing them, Cast and Richard Ashcroft for the whole event. I’ve seen Oasis before and it’s a good day/night out.
But as you’ve said further down, they are extremely limited, past the second album they are very bland and samey and them claiming to be the best bad going is laughable.
They aren’t in the same league as the likes of Arctic Monkeys, Muse, Blur and as others have said, Pulp come back with a cracking new album.
My FB is currently awash with loads of family and friends off to Heaton Park tonight and tomorrow who I had no idea liked Oasis, it’s just an excuse to go out and have the craic and fair do’s.

I saw Oasis in the 90s at their peak and whilst they never really had much going for them musically what made them decent live was the crowd and the buzz.
I'm glad their fans now are enjoying it but personally i think they should've just left it alone as it's more nostalgia than anything else.

Yeah, I saw Oasis and Blur both at the Guildhall in the mid 90s within 6 months of each other. Think it was 9 quid a pop!
Great memories but personally I'm happy to leave it all back in the 90s....other than when it's a cheapie tribute band down the Brook!
