The country has gone nuts on 11:27 - Jul 17 by Boundy | Wrong again , the Royal Marines fall under the command and control of the Royal Navy and finally don't called a Marine a soldier if you know what's good for you. |
Why was a Royal Marine in charge of such sensitive information on the first place.? This is a job for the civil service professionals. Royal Marines are designed to storm beaches not assemble sensitive spreadsheets. You re right they can smack me in the mouth if I call them grunts. 33,000 Afghans would with proper training would be enough to keep the Taliban out of Kabul with all that kit left behind. Why shouldn't they be in charge? those guys are highly skilled in warfare and military intelligence some have degrees they aren't a bunch herbets running around in their green berets. Do some research before saying things like they designed to storm beaches, I offered you some sound advice the other day about proofreading and thinking about a post before posting.

Maybe you haven't realised this but the military has it's own admin services. Besides which sensitive military information isn't just sent in the post to the civil service. it wouldn't have been a grunt that leaked this either, probably somebody higher up because the Royal Marines have high ranking officers too, you know. Please never disparage the Rpyal Marines, you may easily upset me. You can call them soldiers though, because they are.

No one is above criticism and they have seriously messed up landed the taxpayer with huge liabilities. Something very dodgy here. Afghan families are now welcome to go on the public slate. One family had twenty members. There is some legal nonsense about the definition of a family. Man and wife and 18 kids ?. Read between the lines "man and multiple wives" most probably and associated kids. I thought it was illegal. You may say it is not happening. It is and my neighbour has been working on resettling multiple wives of refugees from Afghanistan. "Her ruling ( the judge) said: “The term 'family member' does not have any fixed meaning in law or in common usage.". Do you get my drift? https://www.express.co.uk/news/uk/2084045/afghan-migrant-brought-22-relatives-uk The Judge said this "Indeed, the word 'family' may mean different things to different people and in different contexts. There may be cultural considerations … there is no requirement for a blood or legal connection." [Post edited 19 Jul 16:51]

Criticism when due is fine but people can and do make mistakes, or are you perfect? Calling it dodgy is itself dodgy unless you have evidence, do you? It's just your opinion. Afghan families are typically large and multigenerational, the kids often stay in the family home all through their lives, them and then their wives and children. So large or very large families are common.

Polygamy is s illegal in the UK. We are giving refuge to people who openly break our laws. if the Government support people breaking their own laws it sounds illegal. There may be other factors we the public are not privy to. Money is often a factor.

I agree with HMG giving refuge to people who have helped this country against our enemies. Mind you if certain countries (ourselves inclided) kept our noses out of things that don't concern us maybe there'd be fewer wars and fewer enemies.

I don't know enough about Afghanistan but these people could be worse than the Taliban, does the English led UK state know if they are better than the Taliban ? Lots of groups Hamas, Viet Cong, IRA etc etc came about because of corrupt Government/rulers and they had good support from the people, Taliban the same, the West cosy up to corrupt regimes if the West thinks it can exploit those areas but when the corrupt types the West can get on with/like get overthrown and the new regimes have stricter rules and the West can't exploit them so much the West doesn't like it.

That line only applies if those people aren't already your enemy. ISIS came from Al Qaida and they are our enemy too. These people from Afghanistan fought on our side. Assisted our troops and are now targets for the Taliban and other extremists.

I doubt many if any fought. When it came time to fight a few million Afghan men chose to run rather than fight a heavily outnumber bunch of fanatics with great beards. The fighters can for sure carry on their work and join the British army. We have allies who are Muslim. UK is not the place for. Burhkas and polygomy paid for my my taxes. The Taliban offered an amnesty and want their people back. Converting to Christianity would make them unsuitable of course. That never happens. They are running from strict islam so why do they not convert?

There is absolutely no evidence that Britain directly paid ISIS. Britain did, I believe, fund Al Qaida for a while and ISIS came from Al Qaida so we may have indirectly funded them.

The Americans lost a lot of there personal suppressing the Taliban and training the Afghans, they also made sure they were well armed when they left yet as soon as the Taliban began to rise and fight again the Afghans capitulated so fcuk them

Oh I see. Maybe they should have risked their kives for nothing. maybe they should have let their wives and chikdren starve while they did so? It's not as if the Taloban would be malicious about it and hunt them and their families down...oh wait. Do you work for nothing? Do you work? If you had joined the British armed forces would you have served the country for nothing? I think I know the answer to the last one.

Afghans fought with the Soviet Union against the Mujahideen, I guess the Soviets weren't paying them but the Afghan state was, we was paying them, perhaps if the Taliban paid them more than us then perhaps they would have fought for the Taliban against us. I wouldnt fight for an invader against my country even if they offered me money, by the sound of it you would ? Lots of countries have the death penalty for treason, our country used to execute traitors and that was on the statute book until relatively recently.

When the USA left the trained Afghan army chose to run rather than fight. They had all the kit and the money they needed to repel an heavily out numbered rival. They behaved in a cowardly way and ran. They were not prepared to fight for a decent life for them and their women and submitted to a scary but limited opponent. Millions ran away. Afghanistan majority do not want the Taliban but we're not prepared to fight as they do not have a clear set of principles of moderate Islam and defer to the fanatics. https://www.google.com/amp/s/amp.cnn.com/cnn/2022/04/27/politics/afghan-weapons- [Post edited 24 Jul 12:31]
