£2 billion for an accidental security breach. 33,000 and their "family members".

My neighbour works in social services. She tells me the Afghans had a lot of trouble getting their family over. Their wive(s) and children. Did you notice the plural. It is actually supposed to be illegal over here.

We cannot run a welfare state with open borders.

Wrong again , the Royal Marines fall under the command and control of the Royal Navy and finally don't called a Marine a soldier if you know what's good for you.

Why was a Royal Marine in charge of such sensitive information on the first place.? This is a job for the civil service professionals. Royal Marines are designed to storm beaches not assemble sensitive spreadsheets. You re right they can smack me in the mouth if I call them grunts.

33,000 Afghans would with proper training would be enough to keep the Taliban out of Kabul with all that kit left behind.

Why shouldn't they be in charge? those guys are highly skilled in warfare and military intelligence some have degrees they aren't a bunch herbets running around in their green berets.

Do some research before saying things like they designed to storm beaches, I offered you some sound advice the other day about proofreading and thinking about a post before posting.

Maybe you haven't realised this but the military has it's own admin services. Besides which sensitive military information isn't just sent in the post to the civil service.

it wouldn't have been a grunt that leaked this either, probably somebody higher up because the Royal Marines have high ranking officers too, you know.

Please never disparage the Rpyal Marines, you may easily upset me. You can call them soldiers though, because they are.

No one is above criticism and they have seriously messed up landed the taxpayer with huge liabilities. Something very dodgy here.

Afghan families are now welcome to go on the public slate. One family had twenty members. There is some legal nonsense about the definition of a family. Man and wife and 18 kids ?.

Read between the lines "man and multiple wives" most probably and associated kids. I thought it was illegal. You may say it is not happening. It is and my neighbour has been working on resettling multiple wives of refugees from Afghanistan.

"Her ruling ( the judge) said: “The term 'family member' does not have any fixed meaning in law or in common usage.". Do you get my drift?

The Judge said this

"Indeed, the word 'family' may mean different things to different people and in different contexts. There may be cultural considerations … there is no requirement for a blood or legal connection."

Criticism when due is fine but people can and do make mistakes, or are you perfect?

Calling it dodgy is itself dodgy unless you have evidence, do you? It's just your opinion.

Afghan families are typically large and multigenerational, the kids often stay in the family home all through their lives, them and then their wives and children. So large or very large families are common.
