Ipswich away tickets 11:10 - Jul 22 with 2220 views | franniesTache | Less than three weeks before the game and the club still haven't released the ticket details, even by the shoddy standard of our ticket office that is poor. It does also make the cynic in me wonder if it means the club are going to try and make away tickets digital too? Because their track record of posting tickets out is bloody awful

Ipswich away tickets on 11:13 - Jul 22 with 1302 views | PatfromPoole | Based on what I saw when buying Northampton tickets, and it taking about half an hour due to my transaction being regularly rejected....... I wonder if the delay is due to what appears to be a bloody awful new ticket site that we have, and maybe they are trying to sort it.

Good thing that train tickets in this country remain really cheap and there's absolutely no impact on the fans because the clubs can't get their arses in gear for a fixture that we've known about for over a month isn't it?

Let me guess. Saints haven't sent them to Wrexham yet. Maybe Wrexham objected to a delivery charge.....

I was curious to see if we were giving away fans 3,000, so had a look on their official site and there was no mention of them being on sale yet, just a "coming soon" message. Jumped on one of their forums and loads of their fans are wondering what's going on and have had to book trains and hotels ages ago in the hope qualify for one. It'll obviously be a high demand fixture for them. I also booked my train for Ipswich and Watford when they announced the tv games a couple of weeks ago, but it always leaves you a little apprehensive.

Worry not, St Nicholas will shortly arrive to tell us all that it’s absolutely nothing to do with Sports Republic and the guilty party is in fact:- A. The ticket office manager. B. The ticket office staff. C. The ticket office cleaner D. The stadium security team. E. The first team coach driver. Conveniently forgetting that they are ultimately employed by whom exactly ? That’s right, Sports Republic.

If you walk into the Scholars pub in town which i think is a Greene King pub and the bar staff completely ignore you and then are rude when they do serve you. Do you blame 1. The bar staff in question. and perhaps the pub manager for employing them and not training them. or 2. The CEO & Chairman of Greene King who should be employing and training each member of their staff individually themselves and be responsible for every decision in that pub including what Televised football game should be shown on the pub TV &whether to use two or three ply toilet paper in the loos.

Last time you attempted to hide Sports Republic’s failings by comparing us to Tesco. This time it Greene King. According to Companies House, Greene Kings last accounts show a turnover of £2450.5 million whereas if memory serves ours showed £87.0 million. Comparing Apples with Oranges comes to mind. Nick, by popular consensus our online ticketing system has been a complete shambles for many seasons. Every man and his dog can see where ultimate responsibility lies. It’s not Tescos, Greene King, Lloyds Bank or South Western Railways. It is in fact Sports Republic.

Technically it's the third party supplier who run the ticketing system that Saints (and many other clubs) licence tbf. Though actually getting them available for sale in the first place is definitely on the clubs (with aways it's as much about the home team as Saints)

Sorry but you are wrong, the responsibility for the ticketing system lies with the person that commissioned it, presumably the Ticket Office manager or head of marketing. Dragan Solak and Sport Republic are ultimately responsible for appointing the CEO Phil Parsons whose job it is to oversee the daily running of the off field stuff. It doesn't matter what the size of the company is who I compare Sport Republic to, but if we kept it to football clubs, in most of them the owner, unless he is a control freak as some are, does not bother with trivial things such as the ticketing system. I am no fan of the ticketing system, it is not the best, but it is far from being a complete shambles, it worked pretty well for the last two years a bit clunky to operate but perfectly servicable, the only real gripe is the £1.50 booking fee. However i think that is the same as most clubs I am sure that Dragan Solak would have attended the annual Premier League club owners annual meeting when the likes of John Henry of Liverpool, Jim Ratcliffe at Man United, Stan Kroenke at Arsenal & Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan at Manchester City all sat down and spent a day ironing out the important things that club owners take care of, like Ticketing systems, booking fees, the price of pies & pints, the design of the front page of the club programme, the price of the replica shirt and the club shop opening hours, you know all the important stuff that they employ people to do for them. Yes you are right every man and his dog think that those above and the rest of the Premier League owners have got the time to do all of this.

Not so Nick, I'm not wrong. Ultimately responsibility for the ticketing system lies with Sports Republic and its owners as does every other aspect of Southampton Football Club. Let’s just use the example of a fan tripping and injuring himself on an unstable paving stone in the car park.He wants to make a claim, who does he issue proceedings against ? His solicitor would issue against Sports Republic and its owners and most certainly not against Sports Republic’s employees who may have failed to properly secure the paving stone. It’s called corporate responsibility. As for your suggestion regarding Solak attending meetings. Perhaps if he did spend that time being made aware of the failings of the Ticketing System ( something which matters to us fans ) then there wouldn’t be the need for endless complaints on your site from frustrated fans who ultimately simply want to give him money.

The game is actually 26 days away. £43 is indeed steep, but the reality is that we are Category A for most home teams in this league, so tickets are bound to be pricey. To get a maximum allocation of only 2,001 tickets is a joke though, especially when we got 3,000 last season. We all know that when Ipswich come to St Marys, they will get 3,000 tickets at about £30. The train situation is ridiculous. Hopefully one of our group will volunteer to drive !!

Another reason why moving the away fans was a w@nk idea. At least we could easily adjust the segregation in the Northam to take into account the difference in allocation requirements between the Premier League and Championship. Now we're going to be stuck dishing out an additional 1000 tickets to the away club that we didn't need to
