How far Swansea has fallen ? 20:36 - Jul 25 with 3793 views | trampie | Took a car two days running to Plasmarl for a service and mot last week, so went into Swansea first time for a good few years on the first day, the market had stalls closed, no department store in town and I took an old gold watch for repair and guess what there is no Rolex dealer in Swansea anymore, what is going on, in a city mind you. On the second day I thought I've seen enough of Swansea I will catch a bus down the Mumbles, the tennis courts and bowling green by the front gone, seemed to be building work going on, went for a walk on the coastal path, the pier blocked off, the 'Apple' Bracelet bay falling apart, down to Langland and only two tennis courts there seemed to be in working order, oh and St Helens rugby ground seemed to be a wreck on the way down and what was the pitch and put in Singleton seemed to be overgrown. Everywhere across the UK is struggling but I thought it was a shame that recreational things are going.

How far Swansea has fallen ? on 09:20 - Jul 27 by trampie | There is little Swansea related to talk about football wise at the moment it's the off season apart from the shockingly bad pre seasons results by the Swans but as we know that means little as regards the season proper. |
You rarely post on the football board during the season do you get to the Liberty often?

I'm from the Vale of Neath and live in the Garden of Wales and have watched the Swans for over half a century but not a season ticket holder due to other commitments.

Then why not comment on the decline of Neath , I wonder just how much further that town can fall and in comparison in much worse condition visually and socially.

The decline of Neath is terrible, their rugby team was too afraid for 25 years to travel 10 miles up the vale of Neath, yellow they are down there. But as somebody not from Neath or from Swansea, I would say Neath is no worse than Swansea that they are both equally bad as regards decline.

How far Swansea has fallen ? on 08:50 - Jul 27 by trampie | Online offer, you know the story down West, 'every penny is a prisoner'. The department store is the one where apparently the old owner used to drive a pink Rolls Royce around the Rhondda, they still got a place up there but not a department store. |

How far Swansea has fallen ? on 18:55 - Jul 27 with 578 views | Togg | Having been an All Whites supporter in the 80s and 90s (Swans as well). The Brian Thomas/Waldron Neath teams were tough and as hard as rocks. Didn't fear anybody . Including Pontypool. They were right orrible barstewards. When Mike Ruddock took over all that changed. Neath had refused to play Glynneath for a couple of decades claiming rough play, more like Glynneath beat them after the war with Neath going onto to be Welsh champions (let's say it as it is amongst so called first class teams), Neath didn't even score a point and didn't like it, didn't want to play them for fear of getting beat again, then when Glynneath had floodlights way before most top teams in the UK Neath offered to play them then, Glynneath told them to do one and played the Welsh national team instead.

They were a good team. Some of the players were tough and hard, but there were also a number of what I’d called “thugs” in the side.
