Most predictable thing ever, and ruins what should be the best away of the season

Im not so sure that it is the best away game of the season, the bubble game aside our last 3 visits have seen those on the train missing the first 15-20 minutes of the game, you then get held in for 45 mins whilst they wreck a few bus stops, a 25 minute walk back to the station and by the time you get off the train at Southampton the game has been over for 2 hours or more

For the bubble game, straight out of the ground onto the bus and on the road within 15 mins of the game ending, 40 mins back to Southampton and a lot less hassle.

But the flip side is with trains you can still have a drink and aren’t forced into some god awful sterile pen behind the ground.

Also the walk is always mildly amusing as the locals jump around trying to be double hard and scary but come over more pantomime.

As for the league cup game we got in about five mins late and were there for all the goals, it still goes down as the best away day I’ve ever done bar none

The main problem with a bubble game at Fratton will be that everybody turns up at St. Mary’s an hour or two before the coaches leave.

They will then drink 5 or 6 cans while waiting for the 1950’s East German buses.

And then be utterly desperate for a piss on the bus, which given the age of the buses, will not have toilets.

Saw it all in 2011; a load of blokes on the top deck of our bus filled an empty bottle with piss and then lobbed it out the window at some Skates as we approached the dual carriageway leading to Southsea.

So the coach company representative said at the meeting most of the buses will have toilets on them

The stroll back to the station is the best part. So called ‘women’ with no teeth hurling obscenities from their windows and plebs shouting scummers in their Chavtastic gear.

The last visit though got lucky in we just made it in to see Ingsy bang in the opener. Word had it (got in about ten minutes late) we had been outplayed but C’est la vie, we had a striker then that knew how to score.

The rest as they say is history and we now have a tune that the Noddy’s can recite continuously at every game now…..

All well and good but how will they stop Pompey and Saints fans travelling by train and turning up without match tickets? I think that is a distinct possibility.

The lack of trains to southampton for the home game will probably help there

I wasn’t aware that there weren’t going to be any trains but great if that’s the case.

It isn't for the very considerable proportion of the fanbase who don't live in Southampton and now have to rely on painful buses.
