Just finished a bottle of Espartero Rioja Reserva 2018 from Asda. 🍷 Very good indeed. Obviously with a bit of nosh.
I know the Spanish wine snobs will extoll the virtues of a Ribera del Duero . Sorry not for me, it's Rioja every time.
Any red winos on the forum have any recommendations for decent reds from anywhere in the world.

I'm a common red wine drinker, currently I enjoy a glass of Crimes 19 preferably Uprising. I just drink what I enjoy irrespective of if it's a "good" wine or not.

It's a nice wine, although I prefer Yellow Tails Reds and they are cheaper, Crimes 19 wines aren't worth the extra cost in my humble opinion.

Much rather a glass or two of red at home instead of a beer, need to find a few different reds from other producers though.

You can't go wrong with a Chilean Merlot.

Well, perhaps it's possible, but I never have.

Staunch member of Laithwaites and can’t fault them. I’ve yet to have a bad red but I’m a sucker for Australian black reds. They’re very competitive price wise…and I promise I don’t work for them!

Try a box of mixed Portuguese reds from Laithwaites. Not many supermarket reds come close afterwards.

Here you go Max try these - you may need to go for 24 or 36 bottles to get the best price …

I went for the Aussie Reds 15 bottle mix. Repeat order as I really enjoyed them.

I've liked the black reds when I've tried them in the past the Apothic dark red is quality, I may go and grab a bottle tomorrow in fact.

Mrs has let me down, she went to Town earlier and brought back the Apothic Red, apparently they didn't have the Dark Red at Morrisons.

I've locked her in her room now

Este Noche. A nice glass of Rioja Campo Viejo then Coop Muriel with fresh Place from the Market. Pretty blinking lush! You can't beat fresh fish. Had a Cod Currys last night cooked by Mrs Togg. Fish form Coakelys. Support the Market great produce.

For the dark reds lovers....my kith and kin...

Sainos used to do a marvellous own label Corbieres but have replaced it with a Languedoc Red in the Taste the Diff range. I'll spare you the effort - don't bother the new one is poor, in that it's not a bad wine but is not the previous incarnation..

By way of substitution the Taste the Diff Cahors is awesome for old vines Malbec lovers and on offer with a Nectar card for ÂŁ7.50...

Fill your boots.
