Mostly meaningless but interesting how each club has prepared. Portsmouth’s plan seemed to have been to give the players a run out against lots of lower league teams (Woking, Farnborough, Crawley, Reading, Havant & Waterlooville) to build up the fitness and confidence. Then (like us) they played a mid-table Dutch top tier team. Portsmouth didn’t lose or concede a goal in their 6 games. Our plan was to start against a lower team and gradually make it more challenging by 1. playing against a stronger team and 2. not play anyone up front. Sheffield Wednesday maybe the most illuminating - just the one pre season game, a 3-1 loss at Lincoln. Not Lincoln City but Lincoln United of the 108th tier. Though I read they fielded a young team.

So we finished 16th again.

Also happened to notice we're currently 16th in the Championship based purely on alphabetical order with zero games played.

Probably do well to finish 16th this season, unless drastic squad changes or fitness improves.

Sounds like a decent bet then ..

Fackin’ell Dan, I thought league tables being published after the first game of the season is wrong, you’ve actually gone onto negative territory.

Make it stop!

Between 9-10k for Brentford according to a bees mate of mine. Not sure about Heerenveen but I’d imagine about half that.

You don't hand down a footballing lesson to Stevenage, fly halfway round the world to Perpignan, to put on an exhibition against the mighty Toulouse, unless you've got something about you!

This project has more than enough about it to retain 16th place. And that's before we even roll out the Burrell and go all out for an epoch defining 15th place finish.

Some on here need to cheer the fck up and have a scintilla of confidence in the project.

Hilarious, we can't even get higher than 16th in the friendlies table.

Never knowingly right.
