Apparently, QPR have been in talks with German club, Schalke, and have been stringing them along for quite a while before pulling out at the last minute. I’d guess once we signed Kone we didn’t need 28 year old, Papa Melissa Ba.
I’m sure it’s not great for our reputation. I’m also sure I don’t care 😎
Personally I don't like my Club acting like this and dicking another club along. There might be a player we actually want to buy from them in future and they may just tell us to take a hike, beating in mind this deBAcle
Shit but local

Also, telling the world that a player is injured when he isn't can damage careers. Surprised we're not being sued. It's a pretty shitty thing to do.
Erodes confidence in the club's version of the Marti debacle too. If they are willing to throw strangers under the bus think of what they would do to people they don't like.

Lets ignore they tried to sell us an injured player that they must have known about because they tried to get rid of him after 6 months. So desperate to shed they offered to give him away for free. Shame we didn't get him as one less thing to moan at.

Why are we still talking about this? He failed a medical (not for the first time) so we didn't sign him. End of. Like making an offer on a house only for the survey to uncover subsidence. What's the sensible thing to do? You pull out. What you don't do is worry about your relationship with the estate agent and buy the house regardless.
As for Schalke, it's a bit rich of them to virtue signal. This is the same Schalke who pinched Muslic from under Plymouth's noses, irritating their chairman in the process.

We've had this conversation already on an earlier thread and you were shot down for speaking nonsense. Don't think by repeating your nonsense on a copy thread that it's suddenly going to carry weight.
Now, you didn't answer the question before so I'll ask you again. Would you rather QPR blew its striker budget on a crock just to make friends with Schalke? And what exactly can QPR be sued for?

I don’t answer your questions because I think you are a bit of a knob, not because I don’t have an answer for you.

Find it interesting that some believe another club over ours. And also even if we have “strung them along”, isn’t that what any club would do in our position?

Maybe I missed the statement from our club on this?

Essentially Schalke have said there is a known issue with Ba, but they don't view it as serious. But then, they are trying to sell him, not buy him. Maybe it's something we consider will deteriorate with age? Injuries generally do.

I don’t like the immediate assumption that we’ve acted badly. 2 sides to every story and we’ve only heard 1 side.
And would you not say that this is partly a problem of our own making?
In issuing a statement, Shalke have got their spin on events into play. By not responding, QPR have allowed Shalke's version of events to stand unchallenged and therefore gain a patina of veracity.
I can't see we've done anything improper here but a simple statement along the lines of "we decided this transfer was not in the club's interests" would have communicated our position perfectly.
It's fine having a blanket policy of "the first rule of transfer club is we do not talk about transfer club" but it can't cover scenarios like this (e.g. some mental Teutonic 2nd-hand car dealer flinging shìt at you in public). We might or might not have acted correctly on the transfer (and I don't really care) but we've almost certainly coçked up the comms. Again.

Yes it probably would make sense. But do clubs ever comment on players they nearly signed or were rumoured to sign?

Its a non-story to most on here I imagine, let alone outside the confines of QPR and Sulké. The official response should have been a Stephan shrug.
