Just discovered what is a QPR ?? 20:08 - Aug 21 with 1382 views | numptydumpty | "Queer Platonic Relationship" In our anything goes society of today, this is a relatively new type of relationship, which can be seen to be explained by the following. https://ideaseasilyexplained.wordpress.com/2024/03/11/what-is-a-queerplatonic-re Been told, i too often open up ridiculous threads, so this is my attempt at being contemporary and up to date. Apparently, i have found out, i do not qualify, as to being within a QPR !!! [Post edited 21 Aug 20:11]

Just discovered what is a QPR ?? on 02:47 - Aug 22 with 931 views | Boston | Some years ago (17/18 now I think about it), on another MB, the 'QPR letters used for something else thread' had a few interesting replies. One poster discovered a company who used them as it was short for Quackenbush Public Relations and remarked how odd / funny that was - only to be shocked that I knew Ms Quackenbush, had been talking to her the day before and that she was a business teacher at Milton High, where my kids went to school. One of the dumber club related things I did back in the day was to send the office an empty bag of QPR - basically an asphalt product for patching potholes, full name Quality Pavement Repair. Course the bag was empty, but I didn't wash it, so Connor probably got pretty grimy opening up that envelope. [Post edited 22 Aug 2:56]

Just discovered what is a QPR ?? on 08:22 - Aug 22 with 695 views | hubble | Quarter Pound of Rubbish was in common usage amongst other teams' fans in the 70s. Don't think you deserve a downvote though Numpty; the concept of a queer platonic relationship is quite paradoxically revelatory.

My down votes outnumber my ups - which i dont mind as the football team we follow, seem to achieve these feats on an all too regular basis, anyhow. I do have another abbreviation revelation, but could not post it anywhere online for fear of a long long sentence. Not always a Numpty, it seems !!!!

To be fair I've always found Quarter Pound of Rubbish fairly funny really, if you can't take a joke like that then you might as well pack up and go home. Fans of Northampton/Kettering always used to call Rushden & Diamonds "Rubbish & Dustbins" which I used to think was quite funny too. I suppose Dagenham & Redbridge could be termed "Dustbins & Rubbish" but it doesn't seem to roll of the tongue quite so well.

I never said i did not find that funny. Was amusing, yes, not sure why you have suggested otherwise. Hardly likely to ditch a friendship because they call QPR a quarter pound of rhubarb.. My old school was called St Crispin's, patron saint of cobblers. However, due to a lack of discipline amongst pupils, it was affectionately known as St. Dustbins... ie its where all the rubbish ended up !!

Queer Punk Rockers was also popular back in the 70's. In wine circles it stands for Quality Price Ratio. https://www.wineenthusiast.com/basics/drinks-terms-defined/what-is-qpr-in-wine/ We could use some of that in our transfer dealings. [Post edited 22 Aug 14:20]
