They normally pay £20 for a ticket, so £40 seems a lot. We are used to being category A as a bigger club. They have a pick up point at Winchester as well. What's that all about?

Odd - always thought of Winchester as a Saints haven, as with most places in our vicinity; okay, we lost fans to our west when Bournemouth found out how to actually kick a football. Barely see or hear of Pompey in Winch. [Post edited 22 Aug 16:37]

I know of a few in Winch, one of which is one of my closest mates. He travels down with 4/5 from here, but he is surprised they are doing a pick up. Eastleigh has a few more
Portsmouth Fans Not Happy With Travel And Match Ticket Prices For Trip To Southa on 18:26 - Aug 22 with 1955 views | TripleNiemi | Rivalries aside, there should be bloôdy price caps….. As for travelling to ours (or vice versa) on a bus ain’t, that ain’t for me. The train journey down to Fratton is half the fun (especially strolling through Beirut before and after with the fat slâgs hollering abuse from their slum windows). [Post edited 22 Aug 18:30]

I think it may be about Westwoods lot coming from Petersfield and it would be quicker coming via Winchester and picking up POmpey fans based in Winchester, Basingstoke and London

Ipswich away last weekend was 37£ lower, 43£ upper tier (i think) for our 2000 tickets, so if them aint happy, they don't have to boy them, simple as As sure as egg are eggs, when we go down there we'll pay 40sovs | | | | Login to get fewer ads

£40 for an away game is atrocious, the Premier League is limited to £30.

If that's true, I'm disappointed in our club. Rivalry and business models aside, it's an expensive hobby for most people and a shame that didn't happen.

Yes i was at the last meeting, with regards to tickets, all that was said was that the clubs were working together, no price structures were mentioned. The issue is that Saints charge more than Pompey and have a category structure, so there were only two solutions, the first was that both clubs just stuck to their individual ticket pricing, which it seems has happened, the second as that Pompey are saying that they want a reciprocal £30 ticket for both sets of away fans, but Saints seem to have said no thank you we will stick to our usual pricing. Now the waters get muddied, in the Premier League you cannot charge away fans more than you charge a home fan for the same individual ticket for same area or similar area. But I am not sure if that rule applies in the EFL who have differing ticket rules from the Premier League ie no away price cap. This makes the Championship one of the dearest Leagues in Europe for away fan tickets. The spirit of the Championship rules are that clubs have to charge the same as for home fans, but the regulations do not make that clear. So it could be that Pompey have to charge what they normally charge their home fans to sit in the Milton End of a similar area such as the Fratton End, but they also could set their own prices and test the Championship regulations and charge us £40 in a revenge attack

Nick, as we gave them 2700 tickets, do you think they have agreed to give us 2700 as they only really have to give us 10%, around 2000. Wouldn't make any sense really to split that end, they didn't for last game there

The agreement was that everything would be reciprocal, both sides agreed that they would give each other the same amount of tickets, we could both have stuck with the 2,000 you have to give, as they do with their games and we don't with ours and allow more. But a compromise was reached that made sense, 2,700 allowed both clubs to be able to segregate fans easily

You can guarantee Pompey will charge Saints £40 for the visit to Fratton park later in the season - 100%. They are already considering it. They are also subsidising the coach travel to St Marys. It's now £18 instead of £22.50. https://www.portsmouth.co.uk/sport/football/portsmouth-fc/portsmouth-fc-southamp
