They’ve been shit all game, but that goal was something special. About 10 one or two touch passes at pace, in tight spaces in Newcastle’s half to create the one man advantage at the back post. Lovely finish from the kid. A goal that deserved to win a game, even if Liverpool didn’t.

Agree completely. Football is already moving on whilst we and many others admittedly, p*ss about trying to do something we can’t do | | | | Login to get fewer ads

To be fair I think there is a world of difference for a young footballer playing for a top Premier League team than a struggling Championship side. When he came on Rio Ngumoha looked confident and was no doubt well drilled as to what was expected of him. Training everyday with top, top players also helps.

Completely agree . Coming into our team is a world apart from into a side like Liverpool’s . But the principle is the same …if you are good enough you are old enough. Esquirdinha is older than Morgan but we had no qualms about throwing him in last season . What it does is tell you more about the players around him , the so called experienced players , than the kid himself . We don’t trust the older players around him to help him through at the moment . Damning really
Newcastle v Liverpool on 22:47 - Aug 25 with 1847 views | rbee | We didn't have much choice but to play Morgan last season. Worse than that we have had to play Morgan this season! With the arrival of Hayden and hopefully A.N. Other the club can better manage Kieran's progression.

I've often wondered when lots of teams start going, let's say the Pep way, if the odd team should start playing a completely different way that teams are no longer as set-up for or have the team to manage it as well. I realise it's not that simple, but I guess if you don't have the biggest budget, can you make a difference with a completely different style of play?

I still think the first team that goes back to playing with two up top will make hay until everyone else follows. I also live in hope that one day, we'll defend a corner by first sticking one of our oompah-loompahs on the halfway line.

By far the best football move of the match & possibly the only move in the match! Matched by a controlled finish. I have no idea how good he is or will be, but in the five minutes he was on the pitch he looked the part. As did the 15 year old for Arsenal on Saturday.
Newcastle v Liverpool on 11:49 - Aug 26 with 958 views | charmr | Slot quoted as saying he didn’t see a football match. Ball in play 41% with 32 fouls. WWF no thanks.
Newcastle v Liverpool on 13:57 - Aug 26 with 811 views | Paddyhoops | Don’t watch much of the premier but my Liverpool mate urged me to watch the winning goal. I did and it shows what movement and pace can bring to teams . Lightning quick passing and speed of thought . Our pedestrian passing especially out from the back is just infuriating. Hopefully this will change . Premier leauge and championship are different worlds but would be nice to replicate on a smaller scale.

I remember playing Man Utf at home once, Ferguson was still in charge. We had a corner, and they left 3 on the half-way line. I never understand it when teams put everyone back, I think you make it easier for the other team to score.

Maybe the idea is to make the penalty area so crowded that nobody should get a free header, but I’d much prefer to leave 1 or 2 of our players on the halfway line as it takes twice the number of opponents out of our box. Another modern idea that I don’t agree with and it will hopefully change soon.
Newcastle v Liverpool on 11:27 - Aug 27 with 364 views | rbee | Couldn't agree more with the corner thing. Leave your fastest player on the halfway line and they have to leave two defending. A no brainer. The whole Isak thing is awful, going on strike, not honouring his contract. I am surprised that Liverpool's interest hasn't cooled. What happens after a season at Liverpool when Real Madrid show an interest in Isak?
