You can tell he started out playing futsal. He’s good running forward with the ball and has quick feet. He looks very nippy and skilful and is supposed to be a set piece specialist. He takes all the free kicks and corners so he’ll have to fight it out with Manning for those. I like the fact that he’s worked his way up the divisions in the same way as someone like Rickie Lambert did. He shouldn’t be a lazy, pampered nepo baby like Sekou Mara. He played the full game for Heidenheim against Leipzig on Saturday instead of throwing his toys out of the pram like other players would have done. I’m just a bit concerned he’s going to get hacked a lot but I assume he got a lot of that in the lower leagues in Germany and should be used to it by now.

He looks very one-footed and that's his right foot. The passes he should make with his left foot he plays with his right. The one "highlight" that's a left footed shot, he drags past the post when he should have hit the target. For someone who is here to play on the left wing, that's not ideal. WS presumably wants him to put lots of crosses in, but if he plays on the left he's always going to cut back on to his right foot. The chances created by doing that are nowhere near as good as the chances created by a natural left footer crossing first time. I hope he's as wunderbar as the commentators say but just based on that tiny highlights reel I'd have some concerns.
Did we sign Leo Scienza ?. on 09:58 - Sep 2 with 1040 views | SonicBoom | We are a second tier club so we aren't buying top level players. I'm sure Scienza has some flaws. If he had pace, could shoot with both feet, do a job defensively and bang in every free kick he sure as hell wouldn't be within our budget. He doesn't have to be brilliant, he just has to be good enough for the championship.

Mo Salah doesn't do an awful lot with his right foot and predominantly plays on the right-wing, I believe.

Yeah but Mo Salah isn't there to put in crosses. He's there to get in the box, not operate outside it. If any of our signings score as many goals as he does then I'll be very happy. Tom Fellows is right footed and plays on the right. As a result he gets lots of dangerous crosses in. But he's also decent with his left foot so he can go both ways. In contrast (just based on that video) Scienza looks very one-footed and any defender who's looked at that video will know to show him down the line.

Are you sure? https://m.allfootballapp.com/news/EPL/New-Jack-Grealish-weakness-is-causing-a-ta Grealish is another one who's not really there to put in crosses, but when he does he always cuts back in on his right foot and that has limitations as Man City found out. There are hundreds of wingers who play on their "wrong" side, but if they can't go the other way it's a problem.

I’m not so sure Scienza is there to put crosses in, in the same way that Fellows is. I think Scienza is a bit more of a goal scorer.

That's what I reckon. From the obligatory YouTube 'Leo Scienza - he looks world class' short highlights video that I've seen, he looks like he can play on the right, on the left, and especially more central.

When I watched Leipzig v Heidenheim on Saturday (out of interest) Scienza was playing all along the front line. He definitely wasn’t your regular winger. He was dribbling it out from the back in central areas.

Mohamed Salah has provided 114 assists in 404 appearances for Liverpool across all competitions, including 87 assists in the Premier League. He has also accumulated 107 career assists in Serie A and the Premier League. If his assists are anywhere near that we'll all be happy 😄

Grealish puts lots of crosses in, that's a big part of his game
