The stoke thing was around 98/99 ish if my memory serves, might have been a cup game. All kicked off outside Woolworths lots of grannies hiding behind the pick n mix stand. |  |

We were in the Seabeach with a few of them - a gang of Swans fans turned up and one of the old sandfields heads made sure they stayed inside for their own safety. I’m not sure when it was but earlier than that - maybe 1992/93 ??? | | | |

Mansfield - utter ***ts and a mate of mine got a proper kicking there in the 90's full of off-day Forest and County on a fixture. picked off stragglers. Was like Rourke's drift that season with Hollins - ended up walking down the hard shoulder of M1 to Nuthall. Like Ebbw Vale but without the glamour...
Brighton - again cowardly ***ts who thought nothing of attacking kids and women when they had bigger numbers..Never wanted to know when it was even stevens..
Swindon - got bit on the arse by a police dog. totally unnecessary. I hope he had his jabs!
Reading ....say no more - what a crazy day. Didn't know him at the time but a mate got hit by a police car and broke his leg after the game. Bonkers day....You'll never have days out like that again these days....
Oh and a few mentions for Bristol Rovers but not City for me personally only ever had a few snidey comments at Ashton Gate never any real trouble, although I seem to remember they went a bit mental in the Potters Wheel twenty odd years ago....Lively days out those away at Rovers though...

Mansfield for me as well , working in the area so me and a mate drove over from Retford to watch the game on a Tuesday night, possibly the last game we've played them .
We lost both on the pitch and off it we both had a bit of a kicking from 3 scrots who followed us back to the car after they heard our accents , ( my mate a Turk so even more noticeable).
The rest of the week in work was painful and my black eye was explained away to the wife on the Friday as being an accident on the job. | |

Sorry to hear that but it seems to be a common experience there for Welsh teams with Newport and the bin dippers both getting plenty of grief.
Horrible place. Last time I went was promotion year in 2000. Plenty of bother in and around that pub on the pond after the game but luckily for us Lyn & the Heddlu were in the car park but we'd have almost certainly got jumped heading for the station so we grabbed a lift part of the way back on the motorway, ended up in Nuthall, taxi back to Notts and train back to London. Needless to say I've never been in a rush to go back! | |

Brighton, went there in the 80s. It was a pleasant day at kick off so I wandered in in my t- shirt. By half time it was like the artic, horizontal hailstones driven by a gale.
