Whatever people say about Trump, he has enabled a ceasefire, the release of hostages and a stop to the killing and starvation of children. His threats to Hamas, and grabbing these fighting countries by the scruff of the neck have worked. He said he would bring hell to Hamas if they didn't release the hostages. You have to fight fire with fire, Trump might be fire, but that's the only thing that other fires respond to!
Whilst Starmer, Macron, previous Tory PM's and other EU leaders go round and round in circles having meetings, saying things time and time again, being polite and diplomatic, but never doing, Trump just gets it done like a steam train. That approach is needed sometimes IMO. I don't follow one person and neither left nor right, I just see what I see. I see a ceasefire arranged, an end to the fighting and hostages released. I see thousands of people returning to Gaza on the news with aid approved. This is great news.
Sometimes the means to an end (threats, force, "bullying") doesn't matter, if the end is so positive. This is where other leaders get stuck. They don't like to threaten, or get tough, and then they get absolutely nowhere. [Post edited 10 Oct 11:52]

The ceasefire was only arranged today, so too late for this year, and we need to see if there is continued peace. But I don't care if his intention is to win the peace prize. Wouldn't it be great if Saints had a manager / owner who wanted the prize for best manager and therefore winning the league! And by whatever means. [Post edited 10 Oct 12:15]

Trump is an annoying bloke who has a massive ego but he gets people talking to each other which can only be a good thing . Like anything in life if you can get a problem out in the open and talk you’re halfway there . Fair play to him I say .

If anyone thinks that he's ended this war they're deluded. Israel has wanted the extinction of Palestine for years. Are we supposed to believe they are suddenly going to stop the bombing when they think they're winning and start playing nice.

Continuing our little link with football and Saints, if Saints stopped f@cking about, looking at data on a computer screen, sending scouts across the world, having meetings - all a complete waste of time and just bought a proven striker at the level we are at, just get on with it and do it, we might be in a better place. At least he's trying. There is a ceasefire. An end to the starvation and killing, for now at least. How many meetings has there been between EU leaders over the last 3 years and nothing, absolutely nothing done. Trump just gets on with it, and for that that I applaud him. [Post edited 10 Oct 13:44]
