FA Cup 2025-26 21:33 - Oct 11 with 1302 views | CrashBandicoot | With a number of Essex teams through to the 1st round - Braintree Town, Chelmsford City, Maldon & Tiptree as well as S**th**d - could there be some potential local derbies in the FA cup 1st round this season? Probably not but it'll be interesting to see what happens in the draw.

I just hope it’s a league team. Bolton is well into my top 10 of favorite grounds. We all like different things, but if architecture is your thing, then Bolton is a sure winner, especially when it’s lit up at night. Acres and acres of parking around the ground, which is great (until you want to leave). Just don't put Bolton in your SatNav, because the ground is halfway between Bolton and Wigan. Never been in, but driven past it a couple of times - looks impressive. That would be a good day out for a cup game, or failing that away at a reasonably local non-league side would do me. Not 'that' non-league side though, broadcasting rights would almost certainly get hold of it and switch kick-off to some massively inconvenient time slot.

That's a spicy one, might make the TV? (if there's anyone outside of Essex who knows it's a local derby?)

Harrop, the Chelmsford manager, took Braintree to the National League and wasn't best pleased when he was dismissed last season which adds an extra bit of spice. I believe John White, also ex-Braintree, is part of the management team at Chelmsford too.

We had a great set of results against the Franchise last season. Can't ask for more than a home match in Round One. Could even be televised. Up the U's

Admire your optimism Durham, but I thinks it's unlikely. Two League 2 sides against each other is a bit 'meh' I reckon, as is most of the draw if I'm honest. Luton (recent PL side) vs Worthing or FGR might be the story the cameras are looking for? Port Vale vs the Jammers has a bit of a David and Goliath feel to it, as does Eastleigh vs Walsall perhaps? The Trotters vs the Terriers has two massive names against each other, but I still think Chelmsford vs Braintree is one of the more attractive games from a TV perspective, local derby and it guarantees a non-league side make the 2nd round. We'll know soon enough I suppose.

FA Cup 2025-26 on 18:07 - Oct 20 with 322 views | SparkfilmsTV | Came across Colchester United Women playing at the Garrison yesterday afternoon. Watched briefly from outside the perimeter fence and the opposition were on the attack. I think it was an FA Cup qualifier and the opponents were named 'Toby F.C.' - which is based in Billericay l believe. According to a Twitter / X feed there was a substantial 'crowd' in attendance but l was unable to add to it as the gates appeared to be closed or locked. Just checked - and despite Colchester Women beating this team 7 - 1 a week or so ago the tables were turned yesterday with Toby winning 4 - 1. Either way, it's good to see blue and white stripes representing Colchester United playing in Colchester and not in the Maldon and Tiptree area.

Yes stupid me (along with the others that in a boozy debate raised this issue down the pub). With hindsight, it is logical that one needs to log-in, but as ST holders who never buy ad hoc tickets it is easy to just follow the ticket site links, then see your regular seat shown as unavailable, and (wrongly) assume it has been sold. Most retail websites start with a question “buy as a guest, or buy as an account holder” which would avoid this error. I’ve since suggested to the club that the process should be made more intuitive , notably for older ST holders that prefer cash transactions and can never remember passwords. If I can’t buy stuff as a “guest” I tend to find another retailer. However, Amazon always remembers who I am, so all I need to do is remember my computer log-in. My phone and bank remembers my face. The club could do far more to make life easier for older fans, not the least install handrails to assist them. With size 14 feet, only my heels are on any step, so I have to walk down sideways, not fun when being jostled by unruly kids.
FA Cup 2025-26 on 10:34 - Oct 22 with 53 views | Witham | As someone who ran a venue where every penny counted I have been dismayed at recent events. I turned up to buy Grimsby tickets but there was nobody on site who was trained to sell them. We have a good crowd Saturday, many eager to buy FA Cup tickets but the club waits to Monday to announce them - and without specific information for season ticket holders. At my venue you only had to linger by the door and we sold you a ticket
