| Bournemouth on 13:56 - Oct 20 with 1995 views | Juzzie | There's so much money coming in from TV money that stadium capacity has less of an income impact than it did 30-40+ years ago. By the time you take out match day costs, how much do they make? But yes, having a canny manager and player recruitment helps. Let's face it, with the money on offer to play in the PL I don't think anyone gives a schit if they are playing for Bournemouth if they are getting £70,000+ a week. | | | |
| Bournemouth on 13:57 - Oct 20 with 1980 views | QPRSam | Thought it might go downhill after losing 4/5 of last seasons defence and GK for a combined 150m. Well, smart re-investment and they're performing even better. Inevitably Iraola and Semenyo will be next and with them both being one of the best managers / players in the league that might be a bit more tough to replace. Good for them though | | | |
| Bournemouth on 14:11 - Oct 20 with 1906 views | ted_hendrix | As I dont/wont have Sky I can only watch the short highlights on Sky, week after week when I'm watching It's nigh on always the same, they look bloody superb, fast, well drilled and tbh they'd be a pleasure to watch each game. Any club looking to play In the Premiership should look at Bournemouth and use them as a benchmark for success. Bollox to the so called ''big clubs'' No jealousy from me just admiration. | |

| Bournemouth on 14:32 - Oct 20 with 1837 views | NorrisGreen | Pretty sure they broke FFP rules on one of their promotions, fessed up to charges and paid a fine of several £million and it barely made any news or dented their plucky underdog image despite having a dodgy Russian owner who had wealth derived from similar methods to Abramowich. I think their ownership is possibly different and regularised now, but doesn't change fact they benefitting from dastardly doings. Don't like them... their fans seem to think they are big dogs now and look sniffingly at EFL clubs. Hopefully a reckoning will come for them soon-ish and they can resume playing Luton. | | | |

My brother lives just outside Bournemouth and he says a lot of the people he knew that used to wear other premier league club shirts now wear Bournemouth ones. Similar to Brentford and their enlarged fan base I guess. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

Yes, they broke all the rules, got fined and were annoyingly continually called 'plucky Bournemouth' despite being anything but. However, they rode the wave and here they are now. We broke all the rules, got fined and didn't ride the wave and crashed back down. Technically, we were just as bad as them.

Bournemouth, Brentford, and maybe even Brighton fall into this category. They'll come down eventually and if they don't go up before they spend all their parachute money they are fcked. This is completely unscientific, but i've always thought that its the size of the city that makes the difference (multi clubbed city aside). See Wigan or Luton for example. Never going to be a long term stay is it? Forest on the other hand probably have a long stay in sight. Leeds too if they get their act together. Edit: I've just seen that Bournemouth and surrounds are 9th biggest so i'll shut my mouth. This is why i've always got my eye on Bristol City who I think will stay for a long time if they go up. 8th biggest UK city and never been in the Premiership. Has to happen sooner or later hasn't it? I would say technically they were as bad as us. We got the massive fine, dodgy years, living on a prayer, getting pilloried for breaking FFP where teams like Leicester and Bournemouth also did but got away with it because they stayed up. We were fools who got done over by various agents, greedy players, dodgy managers, but many others also broke the rules and didnt get the abuse we did.

I think we brought the abuse on ourselves by being so high profile. Firstly having the likes of Briatore & Ecclestone on board was always going to bring attention. Then TF all over social media etc whereas, IIRC, Bournemouth just quietly got on with it.
