Also buy a travel pass for the metro from the tourist information place as you come out the airport.
Have to validate it on the1st trip, they have lines, really easy to navigate and spotlessly clean. | |

So many great places to visit - lots of tourists too though. Try some of the neighbourhood bars and restaurants around the castle.
There’s always a couple of decent bands playing so have a look and see if any tickets are going in advance. The venues are usually pretty good and quite a few tour there. The old theatre downtown has some big names playing a medium sized venue. Great value for money.
Could probably do a local game and a soccer sausage if anyone is playing at home out of the usual suspects. Also worth going to the hockey too - Skybox if you can stretch the budget.
Try to avoid the tourist bars and the usual stag tour locations if you can. You’ll pay double and the security is crap if things kick off.
Cocktail/late nights - old fashioned but generally very good services and clients in the centre of town.

This might sound odd but wear a pair of thick soled shoes, spent two great days there but walking about in a pair of trainers knackered my plates. Of course if you drink enough of the quality local beers this ceases to be an issue.
You won't read this in Lonely Planet but apparently the local "ladies of the night" are gypsies and are extremely customer orientated in their endeavours. |  | | |

Lokal U Jirata is a great place for lunch and a beer, close to the nove mesto touristy areas but seems like a locals cafe/ restaurant- if you get a chance going to a Dukla Praha match is a great experience too, proper community club sharing a city with Sparta and Slavia. Main thing to remember is dont get conned by the "traditional" Trdelnik stands, waste of money and not even czech- theyre Hungarian! | | | |

The last time I went there was in 2001 organised by a company called “Prague Piss Up” for a mate’s stag do.
My recommendation is don’t do anything we did, or go to any of the places we went (which i can’t remember the names of anyway).
It’s a fantastic town, full of history. A great book to read before you go would be Alchemy by SJ Parris, murder mystery set in 17th century Prague |  | | |

At the far end of the metro, you come up to a bus to take you the 5 minute drive to the Free aircraft museum.
Yes free
And a great selection of English and Foreign aircraft.
Totes recommended.
Or you could go to the bend in the road that sympathisers tried to kill the nazi that must not be named

Gambrinus. The best Czech Pilsner. Mrs Tonto is Czech so there has been extensive research.
She doesn't come from Prague though, so i couldnt help you other than by saying the airport is quite nice. There is a supermarket between t1 and t2 if you want to pick a few things up once you are off the plane. [Post edited 24 Oct 22:51]

Not as well known as Warhol or Dali but there’s an excellent gallery that’s fairly central in Prague displaying the works of the Czech artist Alphonse Mucha. | | | |

My daughter and I went to Zurich for the England women’s game in July and she saw that one of the top attractions in Zurich was a street that was full of umbrellas hanging up on wires 15ft off the ground.We walked 3 miles just to see it after it was recommended to her.
That has to be worse than any clock in Prague. |  | | |
